"Digital (Did You Tell)" as written by Roy Mayorga, Corey Taylor, James Root, Josh Rand and Shawn Economaki....
Oh save us all again from a cynic's Armageddon
When your mind didn't want to break, your rusty mouth consented
I think you're all afraid, too afraid to admit pollution
Now there's no easy way to avoid such a hard solution

Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?
Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?

Here we go again with a brilliant overreaction
My advice isn't gonna change, dysfunction over fashion
I think you're all ashamed, too ashamed to admit your faults
No daylight in the bunker, just darkness in the vaults

Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?
Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?

There's only one way out of this
But do we have the nerve to try?
'Cause there is no way out of this
If all our answers say goodbye

Goodbye, there's only one way out of this
But do we have the nerve to try?
'Cause there is no way out of this
If all our answers say goodbye

Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?
Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?
Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?
Digital, did you tell the world today that we would say goodbye?

It's supposed to be afraid instead of ashamed.

General CommentWhen I saw them live last night, Corey goes, "This song is for all you fuckers out there who need to UNPLUG, and fucking LIVE".

General CommentI am so bad at analyzing songs to get the true meaning out of them, but I get a strong feeling about this one, so here's my best shot.

Nothing is private anymore. Everyone has facebook or twitter or myspace and we all use them to put down things we are feeling. However, we do it for an audience. We exaggerate and overdramatize things for shock value or to get attention or the latest psycho-babble that sounds good. As much as we seem to put it all out there, we really only put out what we think the world finds interesting. We are too ashamed/afraid to put the way we really feel or what we really find out about ourselves.

Maxfire's comment kinda got the ball rolling for me on this one, so thanks to you!

General CommentCorey: "There's a whole generation stuck in front of blue computer screens. They're slowly going blind and getting fat. This is me telling people to unplug and live their lives."
