"Just Tonight" as written by Kato Khandwala, Ben Phillips and Taylor Momsen....
Here we are
And I can't think from all the pills, hey
Start the car and take me home

Here we are
And your too drunk to hear a word I say
Start the car and take me home

Just tonight I will stay and well throw it all away
When the light hits your eyes
Its telling me I'm right
And if I, I am through
Then its all because of you
Just tonight

Here I am
And I can't seem to see straight
But I'm too numb to feel right now

And here I am
Watching the clock that's ticking away my time
I'm too numb to feel right now

Just tonight I will stay and well throw it all away
When the light hits your eyes
Its telling me I'm right
And if I, I am through
Then its all because of you
Just tonight

Do you understand who I am do you wanna know
Can you really see through me
Now I have got to go

Just tonight
I won't leave
And ill lie and you'll believe
Just tonight
I will see that its all because of me

Just tonight I will stay and well throw it all away
When the light hits your eyes
Its telling me I'm right
And if I, I am through
Then its all because of you
Just tonight
Its all because of you
Just tonight
Its all because of you
Just tonight
Its all because of you
Just tonight

General CommentI think she knows she is in a bad relationships, it's past the point of excuses and all of that. She's staying because she doesn't have enough strength yet to go. She's numb because it's a vicious cycle that continues to happen, after being subjected to it over and over, she has shut off that part of her that reacts to the things that are happening. I don't think it's matter of something he said even to make her stay, or even something she feels for him, it's just one of those things like, 'I'll just do it, it's easier...I don't want to fight or argue or here what you have to say'....'Just tonight, I won't leave, I'll lie and you'll believe'.
She knows shes wasting her time, 'And here I am watching the clock thats ticking away my time'. She knows its over and that there isn't any chance of redemption for him,'When the light hits your eyes, it's telling me I'm right'.

Fantastic song, it helped me a lot, and thats what it meant to me anyways!:)

General CommentI actually feel like this is a sorted of messed up relationship, but I feel like they're in a car crash cause of how much stuff they're on, and she knew it was coming, but because of where she is in her head she can't bring herself to care.

Here we are and youre too drunk to hear a word I say
Start the car and take me home

When the light hits your eyes -- headlights from the other car
Its telling me Im right -- she knew it was going to happen/he was going to hurt her
And if I, I am through -- If i die
Its all because of you -- it's your fault

And here I am watching the clock
thats ticking away my time -- she knows its going to happen
Im too numb to feel right now -- but she doesn't care

I think she thinks that he's wrong for her, but she really loves him, so she's letting go of her inhibitions and fears, even though she knows she could die. If that makes any sense.

General CommentI think she has previously been in a relationship with him and they occasionally still hook up, but it means more to her and the feelings she had when they were together are resurfacing. she numbs herself so she doesn't feel the pain of him not having these same feelings.

General Commenti think its about a girl (like most of you all said) in an abusive relationship where shes unhappy in some ways with him but yet still loves him. shes ready to leave him because shes tired of all the stuff he puts her through. but she's too numb to feel that pain in that moment and doesnt have the strength to put up withthe fight. so she says shell stay and pretend for just tonight that everything is ok and that they are happy. but should she eventually be fed up with him its all because of what he did. and then she says in the end that she wont leave yet and shell lie and how hell believe that shes fine or at least will pretend to. but then she says that BECAUSE she always says "just tonight" shell forget everything she "will see" that its actually HER fault for not leaving and shes unhappy all because of her own decisions to stay in the unhealthy relationship

General CommentI think it's just about a relationship, and it's not necessarily an abusive one. But it's one that she knows isn't working. He doesn't know her.

She's high, and he's drunk. And she wants to tell him all that she feels. But because of these physical factors she doesn't and can't. So instead of being alone and ending this relationship, she stays with him for the night, and they make love because it's better than being alone.

"And when the light hits [his] eyes," (in the morning), she'll leave.

General CommentThis song seems to be about one of those empty but addicting relationships that people sometimes find themselves in. She realizes it and thinks constantly about escape, but can't bring herself to leave. Every time she considers leaving, her weak side insists on "just tonight." Like a smoker trying to quit but saying "Maybe one more cigarette and I'm done, I promise"- but obviously that one more cigarette leads to another one. I don't think the relationship is necessarily abusive- these two people are just not right for each other or just don't know how to be in a healthy relationship. For example, there's no communication- "You're too drunk to hear a word I say." She also asks him, "Do you understand who I am?" etc., indicating that there might not be any real intimacy in the relationship. However, she's so hooked on BEING in the relationship that she can't bring herself to end it. She's having trouble making an escape plan, if you will- "I can't think from all the pills." The song is her acknowledging that she put herself in this situation, keeps putting herself in this situation and that she needs to stop.

General CommentDoes anyone else think maybe she is talking about taking too many pills on purpose and giving in to death? All I am reading is that she is in an abusive relationship. I think differently.
"Just tonight, I will stay" alive?
In the video she switches between a white and black dress. Hmmm... something to think about. I would love feedback since this song and other's interpretations have me interested.

My InterpretationI think she likes him ,a lot really, and they broke up because of him , so just for one night she'll stay and will give him the whole show, and even say it's all her fault but just for one last time.
She doesn't want more drama. She wants to forget the pain for a little while then leave him alone, so she is wondering if he ever knew her, if he is so dumb that he can't see the pain through her pose.

so well written and played, very good song.

My InterpretationI think that they were intoxicated and she wanted to go home so he was driving the car. They got in a crash and she's probably in some sort of in between state(hence the numbness) on the verge of death. The fact that she mentions the clock ticking and staying just tonight probably means that she is going to die but she is hanging on to life for the rest of the night. She is blaming him for the accident though, so maybe they were in a bad relationship and she doesn't mind blaming him for all the things he's done. Not sure if this is correct but this is how I see it.

General CommentNo comments for such an amazing song! this is crazy!

    Anyway....
I kinda get the feeling that its about a girl in an abusive relationship, which you kinda get in the verses:

"Here we are and I can think from all the pills you made
Start the car and take me home
Here we are and youre too drunk to hear a word I say
Start the car and take me home."

It's almost as if she's relaying the details of the relationship and its abuses and such to the listener. Actually it doesnt even have to be abusive persay, but perhaps a "girl likes boy, boy doesnt even notice girl, girl is sad."

"But here I am and I cant seem to see straight
But Im too numb to feel right now
And here I am watching the clock thats ticking away my time
Im too numb to feel right now"

She's too "numb" to realize that it's a bad situation for her to be in.

But in the chorus, maybe the guy is pleading her to stay and give him a chance and that hes sorry and he loves her.

    I dont know. xD lol
