Where the Saints Roam-

There are things that keep us on the ground, when we drift towards heaven.
And there will always be something that tears us down, when we drift towards heaven.
One day we’ll be going home to where, where the saints roam.
Their love knows no wrong my friend, wont have to wake up to this hell again.

Tell me you’re gonna spread those wings and fly, don’t let them keep you away.
In California, there are lies make, make you wanna stay.
One day we’ll be going home to where, where the saints roam.
Their love knows no wrong my friend, wont have to wake up to this hell again.

You made the stars see it, what others can only dream about.
You are something that can’t be found.
You made the stars see it, what others can only dream about.
Just pray you find what you’re lookin for.

One day we’ll be going home to where, where the saints roam.
Their love knows no wrong my friend, wont have to wake up to this hell again.
One day we’ll be going home to where, where the saints roam.
Their love knows no wrong my friend, wont have to wake up to this hell again.

General CommentPretty simple song to me but sounds good. Sound to me like the idea of heaven and seeing the Saints, Christ, God there is what pulls him through the days on Earth that seem like a waking hell.

The song talks about how the world wants to pull you back in away from heaven, "There are things that keep us on the ground, when we drift towards heaven. And there will always be something that tears us down, when we drift towards heaven."

He encourages the listener to never allow "them" to hold him or her back. Hence "spread those wings and fly, don’t let them keep you away."

The next line is bit confusing. "You made the stars see it, what others can only dream about" This implies to me that this person guided the singer to heaven as well as guided other people and he "Prays you finds it as well."

He finishes the song by describing what the saints are like in heaven, "Their love knows no wrong, won't have to wake up to this hell again."

This song fits into Maylene's overall theme and feel very well unlike their new album IV. It makes sense to end the album with a song that enables the listener a time of reflection over the album similar to "Just Wanted to Make Mother Proud" and "The Day Hell Broke Loose at Sicard Hollow".

On a side note, if you want to play this song if figured out the chords, they are "Em G A Em and Em G A C" I'll post them elsewhere later.
