Brages bæger, mjøden skænkes,
Brages bæger, Mjølner skildres,
Brages bæger, sølvbelagte,
Brages bæger, hør min løfte.

Hør! I hin gamles navn, under Mjølners tegn,
Kruset løftes højt, brødre I vor sal,
Hedengangne mænd, mindes for deres dåd,
Drik et drag til dem, og din egen ære!

Brages bæger, mjøden skænkes,
Brages bæger, Mjølner skildres,
Brages bæger, sølvbelagte,
Brages bæger, hør min løfte.

Hør! I hin gamles navn, under Mjølners tegn,
Kruset løftes højt, ed aflægger jeg.
Vestpå søger jeg, sværdet synger gævt,
Velstand lover jeg, til den, der følger.

Brages bæger, mjøden skænkes,
Brages bæger, Mjølner skildres,
Brages bæger, sølvbelagte,
Brages bæger, hør min løfte.

Hey!

Brages bæger, mjøden skænkes,
Brages bæger, Mjølner skildres,
Brages bæger, sølvbelagte,
Brages bæger, hør min løfte.

(Brages Cup -
A song about a toast to a dead warrior, followed by a promise to deliver a great act of courage. The god Brage was the god of poetry and the bæger (literally the beaker) drunk in his honour is the actual toast. The oath was called a Brageløfte (Brage-oath) and is probably the origin of the English verb "to brag)
