I was hot as a burning dragon on a cross
And i knew my body wanted you
We were barely clothed in egyptian robes
Is it love or just a screw?
She descends from the stairs of an ancient lair, with two cats at her feet
Her electric pouncer couldn't weigh an ounce
But she managed to conquer me

I've waited long enough, now I have you
Under the sheets in my room
There's my body, just a tomb for the girls that I've had in the past

Drenched in sweat in a skeleton hat
Dress covered in bright red ink
It was fun for a while, but I knew it wouldn't last
The summer was dead to me

I've waited long enough, now I have you
Under the sheets in my room,
There's my body, just a tomb for the girls that I've had in the past

I've waited long enough, now I have you
Under the sheets in my room,
There's my body, just a tomb for the girls that I've had in the past

How could you not realize it was me?
All of the turquoise jewelry you've received
How could you not realize it was me?
All of the turquoise jewelry you've received
Ah, ah, ah
How could you not realize it was me?
All of the turquoise jewelry you've received
Ah, ah, ah, ah

I've waited long enough, now I have you
Under the sheets in my room,
There's my body, just a tomb for the girls that I've had in the past

I've waited long enough, now I have you

How could you not realize it was me?
All of the turquoise jewelry you've received
(repeat until fade out)

This song seems so rakish. It's about that satiation of desires. He's waited long enough for her, now he has her, in all of her covetous beauty.

There's no love, though, just lust. He's had her in his bed, just like all of his past fucks. He tires of her though, he knew it wouldn't last.

As for the "How could you not realize it was me? All of the turquoise jewelry you've received." Maybe he's a longtime secret admirer, which makes the song more intense, knowing all the trouble he has gone through to finally have her.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
