PawPaw miss you. dedicate this song to you! Love you...
Never feared for anything, never chained but never free
I tried to heal the broken love with all I could
Lived a life so endlessly saw beyond what others see
I tried to heal the broken love with all I could

Will you stay
Will you stay away forever

How do I live without the ones I love?
Time still turns the pages of the book its burned
Place and time always on my mind
I have so much to say but you're so far away

Plans of what our futures hold
Foolish lies of growing old
It seems we're so invincible
The truth is so cold

A final song, a last request
A perfect chapter laid to rest
Now and then I try to find a place in my mind
Where you can stay you can stay awake forever

How do I live without the ones I love
Time still turns the pages of the book its burned
Place and time always on my mind
I have so much to say but you're so far away

Sleep tight, I'm not afraid
The ones that we love are here with me
Lay away a place for me 'cause as soon as I'm done
I'll be on my way to live eternally

How do I live without the ones I love?
Time still turns the pages of the book its burned
Place and time always on my mind
And the light you left remains but it's so hard to stay

When I have so much to say and you're so far away
I love you, you were ready
The pain is strong and urges rise

But I'll see you when He lets me
Your pain is gone, your hands are tied
So far away and I need you to know
So far away and I need you to need you to know

General CommentThis song is totally for Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan, and Synyster Gates did a marvelous job with it. Anyone that says this song sucks, should go through the same thing as Synyster Gates did, and feel the exact same pain that he felt.

Gone but never forgotten, Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan.

General CommentThis song was actually supposed to me about M. Shadows grandfather, then Jimmy died, and then they made it for him.

General CommentThe song was written with Jimmy in mind... in the interview on youtube about the song they didn't say that it was directly to him.. but it was made in honor of him.. M Shadows said that its a song about just a guy.. and his guitar, talking to somebody close to them they had lost.. its an excellent song. Probably one of the best ones they have produced. I hate when artists will release songs they can't apply for everyone, Rock is so much more meaningful than that other crap out there, anybody can take this one to heart. A7X once again, has out done themselves.

My OpinionThis song is great i cant really relate to what this guys went through cause thankfully ive never lost anyone in my life but just thinking about makes my skin scrawl so its great that they made this song cause now other people know that its ok to question everything that going on ina situations like this. I love the way m.shadows sings really soft at the beginning and as the song goes on he really lets his anger show in his voice.

General CommentWow I just heard this song for the first time today. One of the saddest and emotional songs I have ever heard. It’s up there with other AX7 classics. The meaning is very straightforward. Besides beings about The Rev; in general its about losing someone very close to you. It could be your grandparent, father/mother, brother/sister, husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend etc. This is a song literally anyone can relate to because everyone has lost someone who was extremely close to them.

Now to the exact meaning: The cause of death in the song is very vague. It could literally be anything; a natural or unnatural death. What is clear is the person that died was not a very happy person. He/she was unhappy with their life for whatever reason. This is made clear by the line: “I tried to heal your broken heart With all that I could.”

Now the signer of the song is extremely depressed over the death of their loved one. He’s even more upset knowing that his loved one died unhappy and not peacefully. The signer is not suicidal nor does he actually want to die but he feels like it would be amazing if he was dead just so he can see his loved one again. He’s in extreme pain over his loved one’s death and he feels like the only thing that would make him feel better is if he could talk to his dead loved one. The feelings in this song are unfortunately something we all will experience at one time or another.
