"With You In My Head (feat. The Black Angels)" as written by James Hosmer Griffith, Pablo Spencer Clements, James Lavelle, Alexander Maas, Christian Bland, Kyle Hunt, Stephanie Bailey and Nate Ryan....
You keepin on a holdin',
A holdin' on a keepin,
No giving into taking more but still still feedin',
You keepin on a holdin',
A-holdin' on a-keepin,
No giving into taking more but still still feedin',
You're clearly disturbed,
All you want is allegiance
Hear them what you saw
You hear them what you saw
You hear them what you saw
You hear them with believin'
Oh holy holy water washing over the soul

Collecting all the people you love to sing you a song
Even if they stick to humming
Holding on a song to see them
When you're really sick-a sick-a sick of love
Leaving with their heart
To shape them within
Even if they stay to running
Hold 'em on the soul, believing
Till you wanna stick-a stick-a stick to love

When you went down, the men came callin'
Changing to stone as you wept from fallin
When you went down, the men came callin'
Speaking in tongues we've all been summoned.
Ride, you wait to hug the shoal, you hate the thought, you're so-so.
You seem so dark to cry.

Oh, we're ready, honey
I got all the skills
You've given all our love for you
Everything you taught me honey
It never even mattered, really
It's all about my love for you

With you in my head
With you in my head
With you in my head

When you went down, the men came callin'
Faded in stone as you wept from fallin
When you went down, the men came callin'
Singing in tongues, it makes things summoned.

Oh, we're ready, honey
I got all the skills
You've given all our love for you
Everything you taught me honey
It never even mattered, really
It's all about my love for you

I hope that I'm ready, honey
I got all the skills
You've given all our love for you
Everything you taught me honey
It never even mattered, really
It's all about my love for you

General CommentCan't believe no one's commented. Love this song.
    Anyhow, I think the lines:

    Oh, we're ready, honey
    I got all the skills
You've given all our love for you
    Everything you taught me honey
    It never even mattered, really
It's all of our love for you

    With you in my head
    With you in my head
    With you in my head

Fit perfectly into the scene in Eclipse, considering they are learning battle techniques to do anything to save Bella.

General CommentOkay, these lyrics are probably entirely wrong, hence only putting them in a comment, but this is how I interpreted the song:

    You keepin' on a holdin'
    Holdin' on a-keepin'
    No givin' into takin' more
    But still, still feedin'
    Completely disturbed
    All you want is allegiance
    Hear them what you saw
You hear them what you saw
You hear them what you saw
    You hit 'em with believin'
Holy, holy water washin' over the soul

Collectin' all the people you love
    To sing you a song
Even if they stick to hummin'
Hold 'em on the soul, deceive 'em
When you're really sick-a sick-a sick of love
    Leave 'em with a heart
    To shape 'em within
Even if they stay to runnin'
Hold 'em on the soul, believin'
'Til you wanna stick-a stick-a stick to love

When you went down, the men came callin'
Change into stone as you wept from fallin'
When you went down, the men went fallin'
Speakin' in tongues, we've all been summoned

Why you wait to put 'em on show
You hate the thought, you're so-so
You seem so dull, you cry

I hope that I'm ready, honey
I got all the skills you gave me
And all the love, love for you
    Everything you taught me, honey
    It never even mattered, really
It's all about my love for you

    With you in my head
    With you in my head
    With you in my head

When you're in town, the men went callin'
Faded in stone as you wept from fallin'
Freedom went down when the men went callin'
Singin' in tongues, it makes men summoned

I hope that I'm ready, honey
I got all the skills you gave me
And all that I ever loved was you
    Everything you taught me, honey
    It never even mattered, really
It's all about my love for you

I hope that I'm ready, honey
I got all the skills you gave me
And all that I ever loved was you
    Everything you taught me, honey
    It never even mattered, really
It's all about my love for you

I think it actually suits Jasper's feelings toward Maria since he used to think he was in love with her and was kind of under her spell so to speak. Maria was completely self-involved and was only using Jasper and other men for her needs. Now he's using the "skills" she taught him to fight the newborns so she's still "in his head" even though he loves Alice now. I dunno, I'm probably way off base.

    My Interpretationhi to all,

have to say this is a fooking great song and what i see are anti-religious feelings surfacing and evidence of the dogma involved within the lyrics - to me it speaks of brainwashed christians who are, once taught, never quite able to remove it from their head - hence the title

the first two verses are littered with what seems to me to be anti-christian [offended? then forgive me!lol]

    "You keepin' on a holdin'
    A-holdin' on a-keepin'
    No givin' into takin' more
But still, still feedin'" ...religions can only exist [feed] with a following flock

    "You're clearly disturbed,
All you want is allegiance" ...the demands religions place on people

    "You hit 'em with believin'
Holy, holy water washin' over the soul" - self evident

"Collecting all the people you love
    to sing you a song
even if they stick to humming" ...particularly made me lololol

    "Leaving with their heart
To shape them within" ...giving yourself to a religion [a god] changes you inside

"Speaking in tongues we've all been summoned." Glossolalia is defo a religious practice

"it's all about OUR love for you." ...the lyrics are pretty damning [pun intended]

    ...and there's more

you don't have to agree, this is my interpretation, free speech an'all =)

General CommentThis may seem weird to me, this song can be the perspective of a family member of a person who is possed by something, like a deamon or something. The deamon is holding them and they try to use holy water to get rid of it. It doesn't have to be a daemon but thats just what the 'holy water' lyric made me think of, it could be any type of vice or addiction that has a hold over someone.

    "You keepin' on a holdin'
    Holdin' on a-keepin'
    No givin' into takin' more
    But still, still feedin'
    Completely disturbed
    All you want is allegiance
    Hear them what you saw
You hear them what you saw
You hear them what you saw
    You hit 'em with believin'
Holy, holy water washin' over the soul"

To me it seems like the person who is dealing with this addiction is ready to give up on life, but the love of the people around them keeps them wanting to 'stick to love' or keep living even when it gets hard.

Collecting all the people you love to sing you a song
Even if they stick to humming
Holding on a song to see them
When you're really sick-a sick-a sick of love
    Leaving with their heart
    To shape them within
Even if they stay to running
Hold 'em on the soul, believing
Till you wanna stick-a stick-a stick to love

All they they are doing to help this person is out of there love for that person. .. they are doing it all to get the person they love back.

    Oh, we're ready, honey
    I got all the skills
You've given all our love for you
    Everything you taught me honey
    It never even mattered, really
It's all of our love for you

    With you in my head
    With you in my head
    With you in my head

When you went down, the men came callin'
Faded in stone as you wept from fallin
When you went down, the men came callin'
Singing in tongues, it makes things summoned.
