yeah... and if it's a wall, then you should cast a shadow.
or maybe possibly, it's a thought you think is true,
when you appear to be: belief, belief.

I never loved a wall so much.

hey yeah...
asleep in a chair,
where the two go click.

Look at the floor, flat pattern order.
oh, it's the great power one receives from a very modest source,
oh, and you don't feel a thing,
when you drink from the springs of living water.

General CommentThe Books are incredible. They are affirming a kind of emerging consciousness in people that keeps from giving up entirely on this world. Brilliant musicians too, they can put these thoughts into songs that don't sound lame like songs about science and consciousness usually would. Beautiful song.

General CommentWhoops, sorry for the double post back there.

I don't hear "so it is" either, but given their usual attention to detail, I'd be more surprised that they'd have such a glaring error in the notes, than if the "so it is" was just extremely quiet/subtle or something. It would also provide some nice foreshadowing to the end of Group Autogenics II ("and so it is, and so it is").

General CommentThey probably just put "so it is" in the notes to simply mean "here's the lyrics."

General CommentI think this song is very clearly about religion, and how despite no concrete evidence to support it, ("...you should cast a shadow")people still draw great comfort from it ("I never loved a wall so much...asleep in a chair where the two go click"). The two referring to the author and their belief.

However at some point, one has to reconcile the fact that this comfort is baseless and this introspection can be jarring and be frightening when one is confronted with the dilemna of drawing "power from such a modest source" - a lie, or coming to terms with the fact that in all honesty, "you don't feel a thing
when you drink from the springs of living water." In the New Testament, Jesus Christ refers to himself as living water...the writer realizes the beliefs he's clung on to and drawn so much from is really just a facade and when he/she is honest with themselves, the feelings they've drawn from them were simply projections.
