"By Some Miracle" as written by and Philip James Selway....
(1, 2, 3, 4)

As I gave in to temptation
I've straighten across the line
Keep it under wraps in the cold store
Put it to the back of your mind
Put it to the back of your mind

But by some miracle
I've just got away with it
I've clawed it back again
By some miracle
I've just got away with it
I've clawed it back
I'm crawling back again

As a black dog down in the basement
Is barking out my name
Snapping at my heels when I falter
Kick it but it won't go away
Kick it but it won't go away

But by some miracle
I've just got away with it
I've clawed it back again
But by some miracle
I've just got away with it
I've clawed it back
I'm crawling back again

(Put it back, put it back, put it where you found it)

General CommentI'm pretty excited for this album- By the sound of this song, it seems like it'll have a bit that Radiohead atmosphere to it... Enough to hold me over until their next album release! Didn't know Selway had this kind of writing talent.

My InterpretationGiving in to temptation, getting away with your bad deed but still feeling it harping at your subconscious.

That's my simplified take on it anyways. Can't stop listening to the song since Selway put it on his site last week. It's hauntingly beautiful, I had no idea he had such a great voice, can't wait to hear the entire album.
