So you think I could be a man free of sin?
I've done enough to prove I'm not capable of that.
I'm not claiming I'm all that bad but,
I'm not surprised that I've created distance from my past.

Three hundred and sixty five days ago
I was a different man once my world caught on fire
There has been a slight chance of plan
More liquor has been poured
Found out love is for whores
White powder allowed bad ideas to form
All of this consequence this year could be my last.

Maybe I am crazy.
(How bout a taste of my own private hell.)
But either way I'm okay I'm alive today.
(One day you'll know the pain I feel.)
But it won't take away this pain I feel.

One day I'm expecting to pay for the things I've done in this life.
I've tried to take my time, but it never turns out right.
I know it's just a matter of time.
If only all of you could see into my mind
Then you would probably find a boy who's barely clinging to life.

Maybe I am crazy.
But either way I'm okay I'm alive today.
I wouldn't trade it for anyone's life.
But it won't take away this pain.

General CommentAwesome, honest song. It's just sad that the song is concluded with him not dealing with his pain. He just says he's "ok".

The song is about how he's realized that he can't be perfect

(So you think I could be a man free of sin?
I've done enough to prove I'm not capable of that.)

And that he has gotten a lot worse in this as the years have gone on

(I'm not claiming I'm all that bad but,
I'm not surprised that I've created distance from my past.)

Then the next seven lines talk about how he has changed from who he was a year ago through all the things he's been doing and how this year could be his last.

Then in the next five lines he says that he is alright even though he doesn't know what will take away his pain.

He says that even though he has trying to take things slow things still don't turn out right. He knows he is going to have to pay for what he's done. Then he tells us that he is hardly clinging to life.
