I am the shadow, and the smoke in your eyes,
I am the ghost, that hides in the night

Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!

Wait, wait a minute take a step back
you gotta think twice before you react
so stay, stay a little while
Because a Promise not kept is the road to exile
HEY! whats the circumstance
you'll never be great without taking a chance so
wait, you waited too long
had your hands in your pocket
when you shoulda been gone

Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
One push is all you'll need
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
A fist first philosophy
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
We watch with wounded eyes
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
So I hope you recognize

I'm on the front line
Don't worry I'll be fine
the story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
so long to the regret
and now I see the world through diamond eyes

Damn! damn it all down
took one to the chest without even a sound so
What! What are you worth?
the things you love or the people you hurt
Hey! it's like deja vu
a suicidal maniac with nothing to lose
so wait, it's the exception to the rule
everyone of us is expendable

Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
One push is all you'll need
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
A fist first philosophy
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
We watch with wounded eyes
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
So I hope you recognize

I'm on the front line
don't worry I'll be fine
the story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
so long to the regret
and now I know that I'm alive
I'm on the front line
don't worry I'll be fine
the story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
so long to the regret
and now I see the world through diamond eyes

Every night of my life
I watch angels fall from the sky
Every time that the sun still sets
I pray they don't take mine

I'm on the front line
don't worry I'll be fine
the story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
so long to regret

I'm on the front line
don't worry I'll be fine
the story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
so long to the regrets
and now I know that I'm alive

I'm on the front line
don't worry I'll be fine
the story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
so long to the regret
and now I see the world through diamond eyes
and now I see the world through diamond eyes

Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!

Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!
Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!

    My Interpretation

I am the shadow, and the smoke in your eyes, I am the ghost, that hides in the nigh.,

...Jesus Christ, always with you, even during your times of despair and darkness, he patiently waiting in the shadows, even while you are making foolish, smokey, hazy decisions; he is there, waiting for you to call out to him.,

    Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM!,,

The God given POWER, the STRENGTH, within us all, some times we let it out, sometimes it lays inside us ready to EXPLODE out from within us at any moment, sometimes in good ways and sometimes regretfully, in bad ways.,

Wait, wait a minute take a step back you gotta think twice before you react so stay, stay a little while Because a Promise not kept is the road to exile HEY! whats the circumstance you'll never be great without taking a chance so wait, you waited too long had your hands in your pocket when you shoulda been gone,.,

fast, hasty actions without thought of .consequence..Knock it off and start thinking things through first..... think things through, stay a little while in calm reflective thought, then the promises can be kept, not broken on a road of bad choices leading to a hell of regrets.....all those things you didn't do in the past, because you thought the right thing would be to hard to accomplish, to much work or didn't deserve the glory and joy. , [Chorus] Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM! One push is all you'll need Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM! A fist first philosophy Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM! We watch with wounded eyes Boom-Lay Boom-Lay BOOM! So I hope you recognize,,

We all wounded, have been hurt by others or by our circumstances, have made mistakes, and hurt our lives with foolish choices we regret. One push, one step in the right direction, is the beginning to the path of awareness and positive change. Fist first fighting while in the bad circumstance, fist first trying to get out, fist first with inner strength to go in the right positive direction when we recognize we have choices and can make changes.,

I'm on the front line Don't worry I'll be fine. the story is just beginning. I say goodbye to my weakness so long to the regret and now I see the world through diamond eyes.,

Again, think things through, stay a little while in calm reflective thought, then the promises can be kept, not broken on a road of bad choices leading to a hell of regrets......new beginning, new choices, better decisions with the knowledge of my past mistakes, not to be repeated...with new hope, a new light, a shimmer and sparkle from within me after learning from my past, the wisdom I have gained, understanding the past was needed to get to where I am now,,

Damn! damn it all down took one to the chest without even a sound so What! What are you worth? the things you love or the people you hurt Hey! it's like deja vu a suicidal maniac with nothing to lose so wait, it's the exception to the rule everyone of us is expendable.,

Past mistakes, bucked it up in silence, false pride alone, choked the pain back in silence. Not worthy of sharing it, thinking no one would care....Regrets of your life, repeated, were you ever going to learn......Who cares, nobody cares, I don't care, you don't care, nothing can be lost if no one cares....looking for someone to care, because I can't find it within myself, it is/was lost somewhere inside of me., [Chorus]

I'm on the front line don't worry I'll be fine the story is just beginning I say goodbye to my weakness so long to the regret and now I know that I'm alive.,

I have made it, I am new, I am starting over with pride and happiness, optimism and excitement. I feel more alive then I ever did, having learned the lessons from my past. I couldn't be who I am, without the pain, the loss, the fear.

Every night of my life I watch angels fall from the sky Every time that the sun still sets I pray they don't take mine.,

God was sending angels to us all, some angelic and good, some human who touched us in someway then lived with their lessons of mistakes also. I pray that my angels stays grounded and strong, can hold me up in my prideful, ignorant choices, leads, protects and watches me through each new day.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
