I want to live like I did back then
With the stars in my eyes
And the blood from the heart of a pen
With my hood pulled up
In the light of the night
I was smoke in the bed
Like a ghost white light
On the turnpike

You didn't lift my world off me
But you said to let it go
So I did, now I see
That my friends are gonna leave me
If they don't believe that they can save me

You don't have to live like that
You don't have to live like that

Like a bolt of lightning
Your stoplight moves on
And you wake up crying
What's going on
What's going on

I'm waking up tired
No god has appeared
I never ever really
Felt real faith in your fear

You don't have to live like that
You don't have to live like that

I'm so sorry for the things I said
For the light of me died
When a part of her did

Like a dream, it's a fear
And it won't carry out
I'm living easy
Nightmare plant a seed
In the garden of doubt

You didn't lift my world off me
But you said to let it go
So I did, now I see
That my friends are gonna leave me
If they don't believe that they can save me

You don't have to live like that
You don't have to live like that

Like a bolt of lightning
Your stoplight moves on
And you wake up crying
What's going on
What's going on

I'm waking up tired
No god has appeared
And I never ever really
Felt real faith in your fear

Let me wash it away
Let me wash it away
You never ever really
Felt real faith in your fear

You don't have to live like that
You don't have to live like that
You don't have to live like that
You don't have to live like that

When I first took a good look into the lyrics after I get many good listenings of how awesome their melodies and rhythms are so delicious. Well, at first the lyrics "i'm waking up tired, no god has appeared, i never ever really found real faith in the fear" and I was like oh, a little bit of a personal jab at religion in general, since much behind having faith, is the fear that is driving it.

But, as I remembered at one of their shows they did a lot of Jew jokes, and then said they were Jewish and were having a laugh at themselves. Now I see that this would be a good theme song for Kyle in south park as he is dealing with the same real life situation as these guys.

Take a look at "that my friends are gonna leave me if they don't believe that they can save me" Likely Christian friends who perhaps only value a friendship as a potential convert. Believe in Jesus and you will be saved. When they see they're not going to make "progress" on someone, they anull the friendship and move on, because religion is valued more than pure friendship.

You don't have to live like that.

You didn't lift my world off me, but you said let it go, so i did and now I SEE.

    wonderfully written song

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
