Rosaries
Left under the mattress of the memories
Who could bear the witness
As you slip into oblivion,
Use it like a weapon
Am I left to bleed
Waiting for the moment when you've had your fun
A loaded gun

Take away your broken misery,
I can't wait to erase your memory
This love, this love is gonna be the end of me
Everything I gave is wasted,
I'm the one who suffocated
This love, this love is gonna be the end of me

Can't resist poisoning the message
Just a narcissist trapped inside the wreckage
And the sympathy I had is gone
Deadened by the ceremony
Drama queen,
Stand behind your empire
As your kingdom falls, all because

Take away your broken misery,
I can't wait to erase your memory
This love, this love is gonna be the end of me.
Everything I gave is wasted,
I'm the one who suffocated
This love, this love is gonna be the end of me

Your rescue, my undo
I'm not the one to save you
I'm empty completely
I'm drowning in your shadow

Take away your broken misery,
I can't wait to erase your memory
This love, this love is gonna be the end of me.
Everything I gave is wasted,
I'm the one who suffocated
This love, this love is gonna be the end of

Cant chase away your ghost,
Inside it only grows
Nothing left but misery
This will be the end of me
All the shit that you created,
All the scars you celebrated
Couldn't take away your pain
Couldn't resurrect your gain
This love will be the end of me,
This love will be the end.

I can't believe nobody has commented yet...I love this song!!

Also, as far as lyrics are concerned, I believe it's "I can't wait to erase your memory" instead of "I dont want to waste your memory"

Looks like a girl who plays with his heart and mind. Then, "Suffocated" because of this, he decides to leave her...

...or at least that what he dreams (I watched a part of Apocalyptica's video where Eicca Toppinen throws a girl directly on the floor, like a dream of revenge).

The video of this song will be officially released on Apocalyptica.com next Friday, July the 2nd.

I guess he just feels like he is getting nowhere in the relationship. Great song.

    Song Meaning

I have experienced what the singer is going through. The person he's singing about is a narcissist and a drama queen who pulls him into her world. She suffocates him by taking away his very being, thus he walks in her shadow. She uses him only for the purpose of satisfying her insatiable need for attention. She has reflected her inner emptiness onto him to leave him feeling empty as well. This broken woman, for whom he once had sympathy, is driving him away; for she is trapped inside the wreckage of her deep misery and can offer him nothing in return for his love. She stands behind her mask of narcissism as her world falls all around her. She has no empathy for him or anybody else, thus she drives all who love her away. There is nothing the man can do to save her, for all he's tried to do has been wasted and he has no choice but to leave her...otherwise "it will be the end" for him.

    My Interpretation

Perfectly interpreted "rocknow"....i agree completely, there's a U2 line that goes "A victim or a vampire, depends on who is around" which summarises the song and your intepretation.

I have also experienced loving and giving to a person that was only capable of taking and populating her narcisstic world without giving back. And you always believe that you just need to give a little more for her to turn the corner, but her world never fills, it's a bottomless pit that eventually swallows all those around her. The singer is almost there, but is about break free "I'm not the one to save you...", which is the most difficult thing for a man to say to a woman...but really understandable once you've gone thru this...

    Lyric Correction

Hey all, don't post much, but love this song and just wanted say that the line is actually "I can't always erase your memory" instead of "I can't wait to erase your memory." Slight difference, kind of hard to tell but if you watch Gavin's lips in the music video it becomes quite clear. I think it's more poetic and it rolls off the tongue better to boot. Much love, y'all!

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
