"We Owe This To Ourselves" as written by Stephen Christian Arnold, Christian Edwin Mcalhaney, Joseph Milligan, Deon Rexroat and Nathan Young....
Since when did bullets start to sing
It didn't have to end like this
Is this the end of everything
It didn't have to end like this
I feel I feel we can't stop here
I feel I feel we won't stop here
It doesn't have to end like this

We owe this to ourselves
We owe this to ourselves
We can't just let this go
We owe this to ourselves
We owe this to ourselves
We just can't let this go

If every man became a king
We could start it off with this
We could do more than just dream
We could start it off with this
I feel I feel the change is here

We owe this to ourselves
We owe this to ourselves
We can't just let this go
We owe this to ourselves
We owe this to ourselves
We just can't let this go

We owe this to ourselves
We owe this to ourselves
We can't just let this go
We owe this to ourselves
We owe this to ourselves
We just can't let this go

General CommentI just heard this song today, when it dropped for Anberlin's Twitter followers. Love it! The guitar riff is amazing, and the lyrics are typical genius Anberlin. I Can't wait till September 21 when the album's released.

Song Meaning"This song was originally supposed to be called KING but someone at the label didn’t like the title. (On our set lists its still called KING)

This song is about my High School hero Dr. Martin Luther King jr. I stumbled on a biography of him and everything I read completely inspired me, still to this day his words seep into my writing, his quotes find their ways into my songs.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” -Dr. Martin Luther King jr." - Stephen Christian anberlinlyrics.tumblr.com June 2014
