"Robot" as written by John Shanks and Miley Cyrus....
It's been like this from the start
One piece after another to make my heart
You mistake the game for being smart
Stand here, sell this, and hit your mark
But the sound of the steel
And the crush and the grind
It'll scream cause who am I to decide my life
But in time it all dies
There's nothing left inside
Just rusted metal that was never even mine

I would scream
But I'm just this hollow shell
Waiting here
Begging please
God, set me free so I can feel

Hey!
Stop trying to live my life for me,
I need to breathe
I'm not your robot
Stop telling me I'm part of this big machine
I'm breaking free
Can't you see?
I can love
I can speak
Without somebody else operating me
You gave me eyes and now I see
I'm not your robot
I'm just me

All this time,
I've been misled
There was nothing but crossed wires in my head
I've been taught to think about what I feel
Doesn't matter at all until you say it's real

I would scream
But I'm just this hollow shell
Waiting here
Begging please
Set me free so I can feel

Hey!
Stop trying to live my life for me,
I need to breathe
I'm not your robot
Stop telling me I'm part of this big machine
I'm breaking free
Can't you see?
I can love
I can speak
Without somebody else operating me
You gave me eyes and now I see
I'm not your robot
I'm just me

I'm not your robot
I'm just me
I'm not your robot

I would scream
But I'm just this hollow shell
Waiting here
Begging please
Set me free so I can feel

Hey!
Stop trying to live my life for me,
I need to breathe
I'm not your robot
Stop telling me I'm part of this big machine
I'm breaking free
Can't you see?
I can love
I can speak
Without somebody else operating me
You gave me eyes and now I see
I'm not your robot
I'm just me

I'm not your robot
I'm just me
I'm not your robot!

General Commenti feel like this song is a jab at the people who try to control miley, specifically disney & maybe the media who is constantly criticizing her. she's sick of people controlling her and she just wants everyone to know that she's her own person and she's not going to listen to other people's demands.

General CommentThe first time I heard this one I was instantly thinking of Disney. She's said she's sorta glad HM is ending because she wants to be her own person. And it might be about the media too, trying to tell her what to do.

I LOVE the song but it would've been better if some of the notes were lower, they would've been perfect for her voice. :)

General Commenthmmm disney makes sense but i was kinda thinking theres a deeper meaning in this song. i agree that she wants to be her own person, but i think its more about the illuminati controlling her.
All this time I've been misled
There was nothing but crossed wires in my head
I've been taught to think that what I feel
Doesn't matter at all until you say it's real
she doesnt know whats real anymore because what they have taught her has messed with her head. shes been taught how to feel and think in a buiness way, and i think shes fighting back. "Stop telling me I'm part of the big machine
I'm breaking free, can't you see?" a part of a big machine represents the illuminatis plan of ruling and controlling the world, and these stars are a big part of that and they key to control us because we look up to them, admire them, watch them all the time via tv, we follow their trends, their gossip, they rule us. i think she doesnt like what shes starting to see either, but in order to change this world we see, we must first be aware. and i admire her for trying to let us know.

General CommentShe just wants to be free of the control Disney has on her and her music.

She just wants to write her music the way she wants to without Disney saying "that's too much" or "that's way to adult".

I'm glad she's ending her Disney career and being a fulltime singer. I love her music so much!!!!

My Interpretationi think this song is about the people who try to control her, and when she was starting to go into a new music genre. idk
