Oh, Mars-1 Juxtapose
Swine flu Sally's
Neon nose grows
Like a lifelike Pinocchio
Everybody now is just trying to avoid it
Newsman Tom is trying to exploit it
I know a cure to stop the fear and a little rock and roll
Primitive minds during primitive times
But Dr. Lady Richard who won a Nobel Prize
With a put reddish smile
What to do about third world nutrition
Can we dismantle our stupid vision
And get on with the show?

Dare, dare if you dare
Dare to be something
Dare to be real
Dare, dare to be more
Hope for the better
Dare to believe

It's hard to make amends
When you're sitting there on the fence
Let the proof be in the pudding sugar
Everybody wants to start a new religion
Please relax don't need a soul collision
There's a dusty rose where the promise of love used to be
Yea, yea, yea

Dare, dare if you dare
Dare to be something
Dare to be real
Dare, dare to be more
Hope for the better
Dare to believe
Dare if you dare
If you dare
If you dare

My brother died and brought us together
I hope it lasts and lasts forever
What a hero he turned out to be
I wish he could just believe

Dare, dare if you dare
Dare to be something
Dare to be real
Dare, dare to be more
Hope for the better
Dare to believe

Dare if you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare
If you dare

    My Interpretation

*The lyrics are pretty crazy, but the meaning is awesome, and my interpretation of this song is he wrote this from a liberal/philosophical outlook on life….. This is what I get when I read the lyrics

Oh Mars-1 Juxtapose Swine flu Sally's Neon nose grows Like a life like Pinocchio:

*Lies, lies and more lies… “like neon” they stand out, noticeable and we all know the story of Pinocchio… Mars-1; Mars-1 was the first spacecraft sent by any nation to fly past Mars. Its primary mission was to photograph the surface, and the meaning of juxtapose is: to place two or more things together, especially in order to suggest a link between them or emphasize the contrast between them.

Everybody now is just trying to avoid it Newsman Tom is trying to exploit it I know a cure to stop the fear and a little rock 'n' roll:

*Everyone knows, now aware, but they’re trying to overlook it; the media is trying to make money off it. He knows how to stop the fear, with however one copes with fear, and a little rock ‘n’ roll.

Primitive minds during primitive times But Dr. Lady Richard who won a Nobel Prize With a putridish smile:

*Taking advantage. All people are ignorant to what they do not know, and if one chooses to; they can take advantage of that ignorance. We only know what we have been taught by our society and our surroundings. “Believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see.”

What to do about third world nutrition Can we dismantle our stupid vision And get on with the show?”:

*We are so concerned about the health in other countries, can we look at it from an intelligent and beneficial way, what works for us will not work for them. They do not live how we do. Lets just move on... "it will never be"

Dare, dare if you dare Dare to be something Dare to be real:

*Can you push yourself to be more than what you see or what others think you should be, beyond the superficial way of today’s society. Can you separate yourself from conformity and just be true to yourself.

Dare, dare to be more Hope for the better Dare to believe:

*Push yourself to hope for the best and to become better and to believe in it.

It's hard to make amends When you're sitting there on the fence Let the proof be in the pudding sugar: *Get off your ass and do something about it; let your actions speak louder than your words, and then we will be able to see your change and what you mean clearly.

Everybody wants to start a new religion: Please relax don't need a soul collision… *Conflicts are arising and people are losing faith everyday, so with innovation and the study of theology through science, a new religion is be formed, and people are getting upset and uptight about it.

There's a dusty rose where the promise of love used to be Yea yea yea: *The morals and promise of forever is gone.

Dare, dare if you dare Dare to be something Dare to be real Dare, dare to be more Hope for the better Dare to believe

Dare if you dare If you dare If you dare If you dare

My brother died and brought us together I hope it lasts and lasts forever What a hero he turned out to be I wish he could just believe:

Sometimes tragedies will make or break a relationship, and when people experience pain and suffering it can bring people closer together or tear them apart, and he hopes that it will keep them together forever, The person he is referring to is now viewed as a hero, and he wants him to see that.

Dare, dare if you dare Dare to be something Dare to be real Dare, dare to be more Hope for the better Dare to believe

Dare if you dare If you dare If you dare If you dare

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
