You ought to know that every bit shows
I like you free, we feel you breath
and why should I?
I still love you, feeling fonder
left wounded, I can't love you
and we believe a fonder real
pulls in a catch to big to feel
I love you somehow, and it's better,
it works out, it calms me down
I'm glad I know you

and happiness, it does exist
a bottled note that this is it,
in feeling warm like no one does
I love you when your still in it
so hold me hire, I caught you
you caught me and this I see
I'm blind, and I'm fixed and fine and,
ripe and stained, and washed, and dried.

Meet me there to see the rest
its already half dead
proving you made it happen
after its done I'll already be there
giving you a "glad to see you made it in"
beauty holds a place for you in my head
and I'm sure of a name I wont know
how could I and I see that I show I wont hide

General CommentI think that this song is the singer's view on how salvation works. He talks about a "fonder reel" pulling him in and at the same time "giving you a hand". I think it's about him making peace with the mystery of the compatibility of God and man's duties in salvation. At least that's what it means to me. They say they're not a Christian band in their myspace blog but they could be doing that in the same vein as Thrice, not wanting to box themselves up with the "Christian" label.

General Commentthe reason why i love this band so much is exactly that they don't box themselves into any religious label. i don't typically listen to any kind of religious music (i'm more of a classic punk/riot grrl warrior myself) but the passion and joy oceana has is really beautiful and it draws me in. you can tell they think about their lyrics and embrace their religion while still being open to new ideas-not skeptical, but not closeminded, not praiseful and worshipful but more even-toned and thoughtful, they don't blindly grasp onto the scripture, you know? ackk i love them so!
on that note my interpretation of this song is that of some kind of reckoning or judgement, maybe salvation like the previous poster said. he is not unwilling but skeptical and struggling with his personal beliefs. beautiful!
