"Better Place" as written by and John Connolly Clint Edward Lowery....
Hold on we try to live a dream
We lose the fight again
I take the promise I believe
And keep it close til the end
(Collide) I'll start a war inside
(Now stop) Drop and cover me
My sense of peace is burning
Shutting down, I'm falling down
(I can't believe it's happening to me)

Can I give it all way
Just to get back to that better place
That better place today
And I give everything away
Just to get back to that better place
That better place today

Holding on I suffer like a fiend
And try and face the day
I gotta say I'm a little relieved
To see you stay til the end
(I try) I took the war inside
(Then I)
And pushed it out of me
My sense of peace is burning
Open now- I'm not falling out
(I can't believe this is happening to me)

Can I give it all way
Just to get back to that better place
That better place today
And I give everything away
Just to get back to that better place
That better place today

(Now stop)
(I try)

Can I give it all way
Just to get back to that better place
That better place today
And I give everything away
Just to get back to that better place

And now it all remains the same
Til I get back to that better place today

General CommentI think this songs about a person whos endured a tough relationship and they'll do anything to either get back to the way things were, or just get out of it all together. They've held their feelings in for far too long and the reason for this is because they dont want their feelings to ruin the relationship theyre trying so hard to keep together. But then they let their feelings go and the relationship breaks and falls apart:

(I try) I took the war inside
    (Then I)
And pushed it out of me
My sense of peace is burning
Open now- I'm not falling out
(I can't believe this is happening to me)

And the feelings remain the same, because during the fallout, all the person can think about is what went wrong and it wont change until they get back to that better place!
