Bought a ticket on The Hidden Cloud for a voyage to the sun
It had only just begun when I found out I'd been left behind
Sent adrift among the crooked parts that were once the greatest ships
Trying hard to get a grip before I fell apart and lost my mind
When a flash from the sky took my mind from my eyes
And the world went spinning out of time
When I woke up, I felt broke up, and I noticed I had changed
A transformation of the brain, a shiny face, a change of pace, and now
I'm never gonna be the same

Hello, hello, it's me, it's me
I'm the Sky-Ship Thunder-Man
I can't believe the things I see
And I'll beat them if I can
The Universal Appetite is living on the land
I'm looking at the world through a window
The sky's falling but it's just the same to me

Fighting lions high above the world with a cosmic iron bow
And the people down below hardly notice that they're being saved
So goodbye to the fools, and the man in the moon, they've done wrong
'Cause they don't appreciate me when I take the stage
I was made for the blue, but I'm tired of the view
And my frame of mind is changing, too
So I'll fade out, blow the flame out, and they'll see what happens then
See the starting of the end
For the sky's a bore without the loving of a Thunder-Man

Hello, hello, it's me, it's me
I'm the Sky-Ship Thunder-Man
I can't believe the things I see
And I'll beat them if I can
The Universal Appetite is living on the land
I'm looking at the world through a window
The Sky's falling but it's just the same to me

"Say a word for Sky-Ship Thunder-Man
Guess we didn't really understand
Now it seems he's gone and left us
Wandering slowly out of our skies
Cut the chord and severed the ties
A Sky-Ship disappears, now we fear sonic boom!"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
