Mukashi mukashi to aru tokoro ni
Sore sore wa furui yashiki ga
Soko ni watashi wa sarawarete kita
Nazukerareta namae wa arisu
Kinjirareta madame no heya ni
Shinobikomeba migi mo hidari mo
Arisu darake subete satotte

San nichi san ban samezame to naita
Watashi no kami nadenagara kanashige na kao de waratta
Namida kareta yon nichi ni shashintachi o nagamete
"kono naka ni watashi ga iru wa dore ga sou ka wakaru kashira"
Sono yoru futari nusubareta no yo

Ah mon amour
Et moi je arachnophobia

Ah munamoto no kono kumo ga daikirai
Ijousha da to yobarete ita yasashii hito mou inai wa
Sabishisou na yokogao ga wasurerarenai ima mo
Tsumugu ito de nani ga dekiru tada jibun o shibaritsukete
Kanashimi no su ni mogaki naku no

Ah mon amour
Et moi je arachnophobia

Ah munamoto no kono kumo ga kirai
Ah ano hito o omoidashite shimau kara
Ah kumo ga iru kono karadachuu ima mo

Long long ago, in a certain place
There lay an old mansion
It was there I was stolen away
I was given the name Alice
In Madame's forbidden room
Were one to steal in, to the left and to the right
Only Alice, I understood it all

Three days and three nights I sorrowfully cried
As she stroked my hair with sadly smiling eyes
Then on the fourth, when my tears had dried
I turned to gaze at the photos
"I'm in there! Can you guess where?"
And on that night, we two were tied

Oh my love,
And me, I'm arachnophobia*

Ah, these spiders in my chest, I hate them so
But the nice person I called strange isn't here anymore
Even now I cannot forget her sad face, as I gazed at her from the side
But what can you do once the thread is spun? You can only tie yourself
Struggle sadly in the webs and cry

Oh my love,
And me, I'm arachnophobia

Ah, these spiders in my chest, I hate them so
Ah, and since I still remember her well
Ah, there are spiders in my body, even still

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
