Darling, you're mistaken; I don't like what's goin' on
Tell you too much conversation won't get you off
You said, "Blackie's dead...Blackie's dead" and then run the other way

I don't wanna tell you that you're not there on my list
and what's with all that shit you're say;
you know you're not interested in this

I'm in love with a girl who sees what you are, what you are
Tell, tell them you know; tell them your great big poem
Yeah, always feel the pressure from home

Darling, we will a visit, I know you don't feel this way
what's with all that information, oh, don't give it away
You said, "Blackie's dead...Blackie's dead..." and then run the other way

I'm in love with a girl who sees what you are, what you are
Tell, tell them you know; tell them your great big poem

Yeah, I'm in love with a girl who sees what you are, what you are
Tell, tell them you know; tell them your great big poem
Yeah, always feel the pressure from home

I'm in love with a girl who sees what you are, what you are
Tell, tell them you know; tell them your great big poem

I'm in love with a girl who sees what you are, what you are
Tell, tell them you know; tell them your great big poem
Yeah, always feel the pressure from home

Darling, you're forgiven, I don't like what's going on

My InterpretationBlackie's Dead is about his cat, Blackie. Who died. I fully realize that he in no way makes this clear at all, but I thought I could fill in that gap at least.

Song MeaningPete Yorn told a talk show host in an interview that hair bands, heavy metal and the Smiths inspired him as a young musician. I can only guess that Blackie is a reference to Blackie Lawless from WASP who was mistakenly pronounced dead by the media when actually Blackie's younger brother had died.

My OpinionPete Yorn is a racist. he's not worth fans devotion, admiration, love and adoration. folks SAVE IT for someone who's more worth while(Mishka or Matiyahu). why doesn't he just sing I HATE NIGGERS.

people it's not 1930's. Pete Yorn is nobody to admire. BOYCOTT PETE YORN(save your mony for other things in life you will need to one day)

And shame on Scarlett Johansson what type of woman is she? say what they will about Courney Love and Brittney Spears. Scarlett isn't even half the woman they are.
