Don't wanna take it slow
I wanna take you home
And watch the world explode
From underneath your glow

I wanna watch the way
You creep across my skull

You slowly enter
'Cause you know my room
And then crawl your knees off
Before you shake my tomb

I wanna watch you close
I need to see for sure
And then the tape is on
Who do you think we could show

I wanna watch the way
You creep across my skull

You slowly enter
'Cause you know my room
And then crawl your knees off
Before you shake my tomb

I wanna watch the way
You creep across my skull

You slowly enter
'Cause you know my room
And then crawl your knees off
Before you shake my tomb

You enter slowly
You know my room
You crawl your knees off
And then you shake my tomb

This song is very sexual in nature. It is present in the structure and execution of it collectively.

The person you show during the act of sex, can be a person you choose to be. Much like all other instances of existence, it can either be an act or be real. This entire album I feel, deals with the concept of opening up and being comfortable with who you are in all regards.

Having said that, this track in particular deals with the very bare element of being more attracted to the act as apposed to the person putting on the act. Impression is something that a person seems put great thought into as a way of gaining acceptance or connection (physically, mentally) and although the person is hidden beneath the persona they put on, it is something you have to appreciate and work with before they will allow you to see the person underneath.

In a casual sex relationship, over time, regardless of whether you want it to or not. The physical act soon starts to hint at emotional bond and breaks a person down to reveal true emotional feelings through very physical acts. The Butcher, in my opinion is the person who unintentionally starts to break down the other.

Wow' I can't believe no one has seen the meaning. It's about the spawning of serial killer who makes snuff films...the subject has made frequent "buys" from a prostitue. This John knows there is no taking it slow as well as, he is taking her home. He has had this desire for some time now. The compulsion to take a life. To watch the world explode from underneath your glow is a metaphore for the exact moment the killer plunges the knife or strangles his victim. it is not mentioned which is his m/o. He has yet to develop his technique. It's his first kill. From underneath your glow...the taking of her life. Her life aura leaving. To watch her kreeping across his skull is to explain this drawn out meticulously planned killing. he has thought about ,planned, and desired this for some time. For her to enter the room slowly and to crawl her knees off and knowing his room all speaks of the planning this took. She has been here before, She knows his likes and dislikes. Duh.. he has paid her for the other encounters. As wierd as his demands are she will sucumb to his request... he is the customer and is paying for his "fantasy" This killer is filming his first experience.I want to watch you close I want to see for sure. This killer is getting off on seeing this person die.Being it was his first killing and snuff film, He mistakingly recorded himself.. prompting who do think we will show. He is asking this dead girl in a sick joking way.As to his avoidance of including himself in the film.

As many have said, this song is just pure sex. The singing, the music, the lyrics just make you want to fuck. Basically, he's just describing a scenario of a woman enticing him (crawl your knees off, creep across my skull) almost in a dancey way before having sex "shake my tomb" (tomb is also considered a place where someone lays...aka a bed..aka having sex on a bed.

This is why I love Chino and the deftones. So great at expressing the varying types of raw emotions and urges when it comes to lust and sex.

I always thought he said "I want to watch the way, You creep across my skull"

instead of " I want to watch the rain, You creep across the night sky."

Thats just what I hear in the acoustic youtu.be/LOgBuGLNg6I

I agree with pretty much everything kevinra77 stated. The lyrics speak of a man's plans to kill a woman to fulfill his sexual and sadistic desires.

However, I don't believe it's a prostitute that the narrator is talking about. I believe it's an innocent girl who wants to take the blossoming relationship slow, as stated by the narrator's disapproval of those intentions in first couple lines.

I love the line, "...you shake my tomb". It's great imagery of her stimulating his desire to kill by awaking the skeletons (or demons) in that 'tomb'. I believe that part of the song also links to the lines, "..I wanna watch the way, You creep across my skull", referring to the skull of the skeleton in that figurative tomb he speaks of. Therefore, put all together: he wants to feel what it's like when she awakes his skeletons/demons by shaking the tomb and provokes the murderous side of his personality by creeping across the skull of the skeleton in that tomb.

    Very cool song..

In the fist verse he talking about how a girl is very sexually attractive, but she is fake. She is not being herself, she's being a clone of herself that she made. All Chino wants is this girl for her clone. But is trying to see if it's really her he likes or if it's her clone. They have obviously been together for a little while because she "slowly enter, because you know my room". I think she knows that he might be on to her, so she tries being more sexy by crawling towards him sexually before "shaking his tomb" or his bed, where he rests. "I want to watch the rain, <Creep across my sky>" I believe means he wants to watch her to see if she's just spring rain or a storm. He says he's starting to like her so he wants to watch her close, he needs to see for sure who is under her exterior (tape). "I need to see for sure" then the girl says "Who do you need to see?" and he says "Under the tape is who". You know. Then he says "Who do you think we could show?" saying like is there anyone you have to be yourself around, possibly meeting her family or something. That is what I am gathering from it. The title itself is "You've seen the Butcher" almost like this girl has seen a plastic surgeon for fake breasts and some botox or something. You know. I love the song.

this song is most definitely about chino making a sex video with a girl. he's so into this girl and turned on by her that he wants to be able to watch her have sex with him. it's also about how he's going to be the director of said video as well.

    My Interpretation

I think this song literally follows the title - you've seen the butcher, AKA, you're a piece of meat. You're one of those irresistible types who people know are just attractive and want to fuck, but are completely lacking in personality and other aspects that make you lovable. You have to CRAWL and be on your knees to maintain attraction, because beyond the physical attraction there is nothing there. You are the type who would end a relationship in a heart beat if you saw something 'better'. I only think this because it completely reminds me of a girl at my work who just broke one of my managers hearts. He didn't see through here guise, but everyone else did. She is a purely physical being, and beyond that there is nothing - just a piece of meat.

    My Opinion

I think it's about a dude who has just asked out a girl that he is into and they go on one date so far and it's awesome but, big surprise, she wants to go slow. So this is where the song picks up; the guy's fantasy about drilling this chick, there is some absolutely beautiful imagery for the scene too

    Lyric Correction

Okay can someone edit the main lyrics? I'm confused, is it "I want to watch the rain, you creep across the night sky" or "I want to watch the way you creep across my skull"? The second one makes more sense and if that's the correct lyric (like 80% of the comments are saying) then can someone please correct it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
