burning alive because I'm dying with out you
show me the light something i can hold on to

before i say goodbye
i just want you to know
i will return to you
i know we'll make it
we'll survive
we will survive

burning alive cause im dying with out you (can't live without you)
show me the light something i can hold on to (i will hold onto)

i fought the hardest battles
this war has just begun
there's nothing that can stop it
i know we'll make it
we will survive

I've seen the bravest solider
will you come back home
and as the days get colder
give me hope

i keep you moving forward when you're on your own
i know that you'll keep fighting
carry on

we can make it
we will survive
on the coldest night
i pray for you
to keep pressing on
even though my life has ended
there's still a life left to live

General Commentthis song is so awesome
i love the machine gun like noise for the breakdown
    it totally makes the song

    as for the meaning
i interpret it as the struggle in life
to be living as a Christian
and how if you actually believe in Christianity
some people will try to make your life hell
and this seems to be a call out to a fellow Christian(s) to keep fighting on
in spite of what the world wants them to do

General CommentWell, there is certainly some analogous activity. According to Jesusfreakhideout.com 's review on the album though, this... well it sums up the meaning nicely.

"...the mix of double bass combined with the sound of machine guns is absolutely sick when it comes to “Hell Or High Water.” The unusual song about a solider praying for those close to him to push on in life even though he is about to die will make any headbanger excited."

So it's a cry of hope for those still living on when the soldier is on the brink of death. The thought of the meaning gives me chills. I have such respect for people who put themselves out on the battle field. A life, to us humans, is the ultimate price, but to be unselfish while losing it? Astounding.
