So, I guess I got a little ways to go
I keep movin', even if it's slow; I don't know
but these days just aint the same as before
drew a line; this is yours, and this is mine
aint nobody gonna take a side, but they lie
cause they talk big talk with numbers and charts
and they built some big walls in front of your heart

It's gonna be a little lonely some nights
It's gonna be a little lonely some nights, and that's alright

I, I don't wanna make you try
I don't wanna be the reason why, to comply
so I'll be gone before you open your eyes
baby, I took you too seriously
is anybody who they really seem to be?
I guess we'll see
but I'm on a long walk back to the start
and you got a back-bone falling apart

It's gonna be a little lonely some nights
It's gonna be a little lonely some nights, and that's alright

Song Meaningso i really think this song is about adam yound and austin tofte and how they had to break up this band since adam is so busy with owl city. for instance, "cause they talk big talk with numbers and charts" like how songs are rated by the people, saying whos better.

and "but these days just aint the same as before
drew a line; this is yours, and this is mine"
like how theyre splitting the songs between them for who wrote them and whatnot.
and how the band just isnt the same without adam around, now that its only austin tofte.

    but maybe its just me(:

General CommentI'm sure the chorus is kinda wrong. I tried and tried but couldn't find the S syllable in "nights"
Also heard him pronouncing other parts in different ways, but couldn't work out which was the most sure one.
"It's gonna be a lit-alone some night" (lit-alone being pronounced the same as little-lone, combining the two words together) :P

This song is amaze! I haven't yet seen the connection to Jacques Cousteau though!

My InterpretationI believe this song is definitely about Adam Young leaving Swimming with Dolphins. Actually, I believe the whole album is dedicated to that subject. While some seem to be lovesongs, every song to me seem to be about Adam leaving.
