"G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You Know I've Got A)" as written by Eddie Argos and Dyan Genevra Valdes....
Someone phoned my girlfriend and acted unusual
Does this have anything at all to do with you?
Even after I asked you to stop this
I still find notes tucked in my pockets
I don't know what I'm supposed to do
How many times do I have to tell you?

G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
I don't know how this started, but it's got to end
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)

If you think this is attractive, you're being deluded
Always trying to lure me somewhere dark and secluded
Can't you find someone else to prey on?
I once found you in my front garden
I don't know why it's not getting through
I'm sick of telling you

G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
I don't know how this started, but it's got to end
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. You know I've got a girlfriend

I don't know why you're so interested in me
I've something to tell you, so listen carefully
I'm very in love with someone else
We've got concerns about your mental health
I'm very in love with someone else
We've got concerns about your mental health

G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
I don't know how this started, but it's got to end
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. You know I've got a girlfriend

G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. (You know he's got a girlfriend)
I think you've gone wrong, and this has to end
G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. You know I've got a girlfriend
In case you had any doubt, I thought we'd better spell it out

Song MeaningA response to Avril Lavigne's song "Girlfriend", in which Avril sings about stealing another girl's boyfriend. Neither Eddie nor Dyan could stand the song or its message, so it was an obvious pick to answer.

    Song MeaningIn Eddie's words:
Pop songs have traditionally been "boy meets girl," "girl meets boy," "boy/girl overcome a problem," or "boy/girl break up" — in the last decade or so, there has been an alarming new archetype in pop songwriting: "girl steals other girl's boyfriend." This is a divisive message to send to young girls everywhere, and songs like "Girlfriend" (see also "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift) only teach young women that they can derive more worth and status from stealing each others' boyfriends than they can from realizing their own achievements.
