"Girl I Love You" as written by Grantley Evan Marshall, Robert Del Naja, Neil Davidge and Andy Horace....
Girl I love you but your loving has gone forever
Gonna miss you but my love has gone forever
I say I love you but your loving has gone forever
Gonna miss you but my love has gone forever

Girl I'm back in Spanish, ain't no trouble coming around
You promise you will never let me down
If you love me that much you will stick around

It's hard to tell that your love exist
But I know this one is for real

Girl I love you but your loving has gone forever
Forever

General CommentI'm surprised there are so few comments on this track.. Stonie McStonesen is pretty much spot on, and this track has a nice beat as well. The lyrics pretty much speak for themselves so it's not like there's a lot of analysis needed to decipher the true 'meaning' - I guess that's why there's so few comments...

General CommentHorace Andy rules! Such a great voice and he inspired Massive Attack to the best song on the album.

General CommentSo is he really saying " your love has gone on forever" or " your love is gone forever (as in goodbye)"

General CommentLove this singer. He was really good on "Man Next Door" too. I think in this song, this guy is haunted by this woman, who has left, or is gone, but he is holding out hope she is coming back? He uses the present tense in this verse.

Girl I'm back in Spanish [Town], ain't no trouble coming around
You promise you will never let me down
If you love me that much you will stick around

Who knows though. Perhaps deep down he knows she is gone.
