Can I draw some water babe,
from your well.
Can I draw some water baby,
cuz mine has fell.

The bucket won’t come up,
no matter how hard I crank.
The bucket won’t come up,
i think it sank.

I walked the road between your house and mine.
I held the bridge as it collapsed.
I hope the man at the gate will help me through.
Unless he’s holding on to you.

Holding on to you.

How has your garden grown?
Is there fruit on the trees?
Do you need a laborer,
to pull up them weeds?

Oh I am so lonely baby,
in my house on the hill
Oh I am so lonely baby,
the silence kills

I walked the road between your house and mine.
I held the bridge as it collapsed.
I hope the man at the gate will help me through.
Unless he’s holding on to you.

Holding on to you.

I wish that I could sit,
in your garden again.
And watch the stars at night,
from your bed.

I walked the road between your house and mine.
I held the bridge as it collapsed.
I hope the man at the gate will help me through.
Unless he’s holding on to you.

I like this one. The original isn't as good as the acoustic, though. It's pretty melancholy, but it kinda seems hopeful at the same time. It's really the only song off "Prove It" so far that I've been able to listen to more than a couple times without it losing its luster.

    My Interpretation

so let me start by saying this is my first time doing this so don't judge to harshly lol thanks all...

so I believe this song is about a love triangle there are three guys one unspoken of and the second guy is one she holds as a friend and possibly more the third guy is a lover or significant other she can't be with at the time and most of this is from a the third guys prospective..

Can I draw some water babe, from your well. Can I draw some water baby, because mine has fell.

I believe that when he says can I draw some water that the third guy means can I be with you? can I get some of your love? that we experience so well together... and when his has fell he hasn't had love for himself or respect..

The bucket won’t come up, no matter how hard I crank. The bucket won’t come up, I think it sank.

and no matter how hard he tries he can't replace her love or the love they felt together... and he is worried she will forget about him and the love will dissipate

I walked the road between your house and mine. I held the bridge as it collapsed. I hope the man at the gate will help me through. Unless he’s holding on to you.

here he is trying to close the gap he knows how much he wants her and he hopes that he hasn't killed all chance of them being together... the man at the gate is her closest friend possibly even someone who plays mind games with her keeping her as his second/ safety net and when she confesses all this to the her close friend he gives her advice and the third guy is praying that the second guy will give her a chance to make her own decisions and let her love him but he literally is the guardian(for good or bad despite his own intentions)

How has your garden grown? Is there fruit on the trees? Do you need a laborer, to pull up them weeds?

When he asks how has your garden grown he is referring to all the things she had to think about after giving them space .. is there fruit on your trees? Do you need a laborer to help? have you been able to make your decisions? do you need help with those decisions? did you get all the weeds up? the things that were keeping them apart.

Oh I am so lonely baby, in my house on the hill Oh I am so lonely baby, the silence kills

he lives a short distance away from her and the silence and loneliness from the space he gave her is killing him inside not knowing if she still loves him the way she did

I wish that I could sit, in your garden again. And watch the stars at night, from your bed.

he here says that I could sit again with you forever lost in you in your beauty emotionally spiritually and physically... and lay and watch the stars again from the place where they first fell for each other....

So this is my attempt sorry if I am way off but based on a recent personal experience this is how I interpreted it if you don't agree it's all good ha-ha

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
