You were so young
And I guess I'm old
Open your eyes
I'll keep mine closed
I prefer standing
And you take your seat
I'll be wide awake
And you'll be asleep

And you'll fall down a hole
That's the one place we both know
You take me with you if you could, but I wouldn't go
I guess that sometimes we both loose our minds
To find a better road

I can be pensive
You can be so sure
You'll be the poison
You'll be the cure
I'm alone on the journey
I'm alive none the less
And when you do your very worst
Mm it feels the best

And you'll fall down a hole
That's the one place we both know
You take me with you if you could, but I wouldn't go
I guess sometimes we both loose our minds
To find a better road

And you'll fall down a hole
That's the one place in this world that we both know
You take me with you if you could
But if you could I'd lose everything

Can't you see the faces melting as the sun rains from their eyes
Who are you to keep your head with the hearts that you hand behind
Look at yourself, look in the mirror, don't you see a lie?
That you tell yourself again a thousand times
And the truth that makes us laugh will make you cry
You wanna die? No?

So you fall down a hole
That's the one place where we both know
You take me with you if you could, but I wouldn't go
Because sometimes we both loose our minds
To find a better road

prety sure its "don't you see the lie", cos then that would make sense, cos its followed by "that you tell yourself a thousand times. song meanings is such a great site, i've used it for a while now, but finally made an account. found this song through alice, and the melody and beats are truly amazing. defs a song worth of all americans. ignoring the fact that its for alice, my interperatation is that its about a lover talking about their counter part being more free - "you'd take me with you if you could but i wouldnt go" but i'm not too sure, hence why i'm here. fav line: you'll be the poison, you'll be the cure. gotta love oxymorons.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
