Strut on by like a king
Telling everybody they know nothing
And long-lived what you thought you were
And time ain't on your side anymore, anymore

And so you tell me I
Can't take my chances
But I've told you one too many times
And you were cryin' like a bitch

I'm tougher than nails
I can promise you that
Step out of line
And you get bitch-slapped back
And you can run
Your little mouth all day
But the hand of god
Just smacked you back into yesterday

And so you tell me I
Can't take my chances
But I told you one too many times
And you were cryin' like a bitch

And you wonder why
No one can stand you
And there's no denying
You were cryin' like a bitch
You were cryin' like a bitch

Lying dead by your sacred faded past times
Only time is your enemy
Granted a second chance
To prove that your arrogance
Is stronger than you'll ever be
It's stronger than you can be

Oh, stronger than you can be
Oh, stronger than you can, be

And so you tell me I
Can't take my chances
But I told you one too many times
And you were cryin' like a bitch

And you wonder why
No one can stand you
And there's no denying,
You were cryin' like a bitch
You were cryin' like a bitch
You were cryin' like a bitch
You were cryin' like a bitch

Oh, bitch

I'm not sure if the Nikki Sixx thing is true or not, though from what I heard/seen, it's possible, and probable. SO I'm leaning toward that.

But if you watch the video, It seems like it's about some arrogant ass acting as if he's the toughest thing in the world. And as soon as he gets his ass handed to him, he starts cryin like a bitch.

Interesting take on this song, gocybigt. I have no idea if you're right, but the lyrics do seem to fit that interpretation well.

As for your rant about Nikki, well, I actually loved reading Heroin Diaries and love listening to the soundtrack too. I think it's quite an amazing story that should have been shared. But I can understand why other bands would be annoyed at him, and this song does freakin' rock! I'll choose to enjoy both Sully and Sixx.

This song isn't necessarily about "Crue Fest" but Sully did say it came as an inspiration. By the way, this isn't calling Nikki Sixx out for his story about heroin, and I'm sure Sully respects his choice to quit drugs. What Sully was inspired by was how all of Motley Crue treated him and every other band on the tour, and acted as if they were still in the late 80s and were still the biggest band around. This song is more like a wake up call to all those people who believe they are kings and queens, but this song was made to put those people in their place.

This could also be the theme song for any anti-feminist group, as it pretty much sums up the feminist movement and how almost all feminists just sit on their asses and cry like a bunch of bitches. At least this is what I would use.

No Surprises

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
