"This Too Shall Pass" as written by Mark Christopher Batson, India Arie and Andrew Luis Castro....
You know you can't keep lettin' it get you down
And you can't keep draggin' that dead weight around.
If there ain't all that much to lug around,
Better run like hell when you hit the ground.

When the morning comes.
When the morning comes.

You can't stop these kids from dancin'.
Why would you want to?
Especially when yor already gettin' yours.
'Cause if your mind don't move and your knees don't bend,
well don't go blamin' the kids again.

When the morning comes.
When the morning comes.

When the morning comes.
When the morning comes.

When the morning comes.
When the morning comes.

Let it go, this too shall pass.
Let it go, this too shall pass.

Let it go, this too shall pass.
(You know you can't keep lettin' it get you down. No, you can't keep lettin' it get you down.)

Let it go, this too shall pass.
(You know you can't keep lettin' it get you down. No, you can't keep lettin' it get you down.)

Hey!

Let it go, this too shall pass.
(You know you can't keep lettin' it get you down. No, you can't keep lettin' it get you down.)

When the morning comes.
(You can't keep lettin' it get you down. You can't keep lettin' it get you down.)

When the morning comes.
(You can't keep lettin' it get you down. No, you can't keep lettin' it get you down.)

When the morning comes.
(You can't keep lettin' it get you down. You can't keep lettin' it get you down.)

When the morning comes.
(You can't keep lettin' it get you down. No, you can't keep lettin' it get you down.)

When the morning comes!

You know you can't keep letting it get you down
And you can't keep dragging that dead weight around
If there ain't all that much to love around
Better run like hell when you hit the ground

    When the morning comes

You can't stop these kids from dancing, and why would you want to
Especially when when you are already getting yours?
'Cause if your mind don't move, and your knees don't bend
Well don't start blaming the kids again

    When the morning comes

    Let it go
    This too shall pass

You know you can't keep letting it get you down
No you can't keep letting it get you down
If there ain't all that much to love around,
Oh you can't keep letting it get you down.

Song MeaningIts pretty obvious that the meaning of the song is that everything in life, all emotions, events, people, will all pass with time. This too shall pass is a saying that you would refer to in a bad situation where things aren't going your way, and you would remember that it will pass and something greater will soon come.

General CommentThe great thing about this song and all great songs is it has individual meaning for each listener. For me, the first time I heard it, I thought of an ex-girlfriend that I sometimes have to smile and pretend everything is okay between us. In truth I hate her and have never forgiven her for lying and being a cheat. I guess I feel guilty about not moving past that after all these years and the song just reminded me I shouldn't be dragging it around with me when I don't need to.

General CommentI think this song sounds uplifting even if you don't understand a word they say! The video is so good that it serves as a distraction from how good the song is.

My InterpretationClearly this song is about Rube Goldberg machines. Each link in the chain will soon pass and the next will be triggered. Why are you fools so blind to the truth?
