Yeah
Ayy, Ye
Why don't you let me welcome these niggas to the world they ain't welcome to
You understand?
It bring me great pleasure to welcome the real and banish the fake
No big mouth that hold cake, fag, bait-ass niggas allowed
But to everybody else

I would like to welcome you
To the world of (world of)
Fast money, fast cars, big diamond rings
Chief chains and the girls of (girls of)
Fake smiles, broken hearts and if you lookin' (what?)
For your real love (real love)
You wont find it here
Yeah, if you lookin' for your real love (what? who?)
Well goodnight my dear

Ooh, if you lookin' for real love
Don't come around here
Ooh, if you lookin' for real love
It ain't here my dear
Mm-mm
Move on

It's my pleasure to welcome you to the world of
Fast money, flashy cars, big guns
Undone, threw away for the love of
The game, I don't need a chain or the fame, still shine
Spend time with the girls of
Fake smiles, broken hearts tryin' hard in the club lookin' for
Her real love
You won't find it here
All I got is hard dick and conversation for you
I was just high, even lyin' when I say I love you
My mind sayin' it want both
I just wanna fuck you, her too
Blowin' loud, smellin' like a Bubba Kush perfume
She comin' home with me, she finna meet her doom
She ain't sayin' I'm the greatest finna change her tune
The coldest and the hottest call me December June
Deliver euphoria straight to your room
I hit that ass, and I wait, I zoom
Make it rain nonstop call me young typhoon
Top spot already filled up, no room
Thought I would put some paper in your purse so soon?
Well wrong she is and mistaken she was
Tip broke, never heard no such thin' of
I'll fuck you up, don't touch me cuh
Just trust me bruh, it must be
Li-li-li-livin' my dreams don't wake me up
Yo-yo-you fake it 'til you make it, must suck
All of the-the-the haters hate us for the flav' of the paper
Tha-tha-that's why I cant love my neighbors
D-d-d-dangerous, stomp, kick, cut you
If you ain't welcome in my world, bitch, fuck you
D-d-d-dangerous, stomp, kick, cut you
If you ain't welcome in my world, bitch, fuck you

I would like to welcome you
To the world of (world of)
Fast money, fast cars, big diamond rings
Chief chains and the girls of (girls of)
Fake smiles, broken hearts and if you lookin' (what?)
For your real love (real love)
You wont find it here
Yeah, if you lookin' for your real love (what? who?)
Well goodnight my dear

Ooh, if you lookin' for real love
Don't come around here
Ooh, if you lookin' for real love
It ain't here my dear
Mm-mm
Move on

I would like to welcome you to the world of
Fake bitches no love, what the fuck you take me for?
Show love, I hate haters in the club
You must not really know where I come from
Exactly where my heart or you would never, never, never
Ugh, where do I start?
People ask me shit about Illuminati
First off, fuck that mean?
He loved Jesus when he, he, he was worse off
Oh, I see, when they, think a nigga is, stupid rich
People just start comin' up with stupid shit
Man, shit I could never predict
Hold up, let me hit you with this
Rollin' in a Bugatti with fo' chains is some foolishness
Yeah, yeah, that'd be the shit
They'd rather see a nigga locked up, why?
For stupid shit
Look how they did my nigga Tip
Soon as Wayne get out, Tip go in
Wonder why the nigga wanna make the clip go in?
Wonder why it so hard when it get goin'?
Hold ya head my niggas the system is
Made to make niggas fall
Made to make niggas fail
Uh, especially if you ball
They don't take niggas well (hell nah)
Nah, you cant come through flyin' in a, in a Bentley shinin'
I'm in the back, backseat drivin'
Screamin' on a nigga like I'm actually drivin'

Welcome you
To the world of (world of)
Fast money, fast cars, big diamond rings
Chief chains and the girls of (girls of)
Fake smiles, broken hearts and if you lookin' (what?)
For your real love (real love)
You wont find it here
Yeah, if you lookin' for your real love (what? who?)
Well goodnight my dear

Ooh, if you lookin' for real love
Don't come around here
Ooh, if you lookin' for real love

You're missing the first verse. "Welcome to the world, welcome to the world. You got your pop star, I'll be your rock star. When it's a suicide, you call it superstar. Check out the forecast, predictions won't stop. You'll get your 15 and they take the spot.

Let's go, let's go, And then you're ready to go. Let's go, let's go, 'Cause it's the end of the show. Let's go, let's go, So just get ready to go. Let's go, let's go. Let's go, let's go."

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
