She cant be well...
She's got the look of pots left out
Strange left over browns and greens
Seeping from her lids in streams
Oh no!

This cant be right.
Uh oh
This can't be right
Uh oh
This can't be right
Uh oh (x3)

This can't be right (this can't be right)
She's been leaking from her pores all night (this can't be right)
Off whites and yellows and in betweens (this can't be right)
Like a kettle hot, about to steam
And oh, I grow quite confused
Without a map or drawn instructions, whats a man to do, ya know?
She's just a mess
Like something you might find growing off of something you would never touch
Without goggles or a mask

Well Dr. she's not looking well (she looks like hell)
Quite frankly sir she looks like hell (uh oh)
And I must confess,
I'm no doctor and I'd like to wash my hands of this entire mess

Oh this virus!
How cute, it likes us!
It's sweet, and it gets inside us!
We move just like it wants us to
Swell and stink and pulse and ooze (x2)

No, I bet this makes sense to the physicist
To me it's a whole lot of nonsense
X's and Y's and the whole lack there of
Me and Mr. science are about to square off
In a cage in an old fashioned bout of fisticuffs

Well if we must
Talk of science and human life
I'll pose my queries say what I know
And sir, we'll both be up all night

Can't make sex with out a chemistry set
Well if it has seven ears then it might be inbred
Relations between man and beast are strictly forbidden!
I'm only hearing from five ears, but it seems to make sense
Can't make love if its not in proper time
If it has 7 legs well it's not one of mine
Relations between mind and body just cause the eyes to strain
Trying to make sense of signs that point to lasting pain
You can't fight biology

She tries to get up from her bed
The sheets are sticking to her skin
And we can't tell her that
She's turning into something new
An unclassified new breed of goo
She looks like hell and...
We want to help, but will not touch
Her closest friends they lose their lunch
And we can't help her
We can't help her now

Oh, this virus!
How cute! Well it likes us!
It's sweet and it gets inside us!
We move just like it wants us to
Swell and stink and pulse and ooze (x4)

You can't fight biology! (x2)

It makes sense to a physicist
And to a biologist
Not to a comic book enthusiast
It makes sense to a scientist
And to an biologist
Not to a scientologist
It makes sense to a scientist
But I get none of this
No, I get none of this, none of this
It makes sense to a scientist
But I get none of this
No, I get none of this
I'm getting none of this...

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
