This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
I believe its time for me to be famous
And out of place
I believe its time for me to move for forward
When I break through
When I break through
When I break through
When I break through
This time I'll, make you
Proud to see me over, come on daylight
Proud of, who you raised
Your shelter, your peacefulness
So this time I'll make you proud
Proud of, who you raised up
You know that I will
Always be here till' the end
Come back so I can say thank you for this
Home cooked meals and a place to rest
My troubled head when you're away
I've passed the test, I've earned an A
Not just in school, but in life
You'll always be right by my side
To help me show, hope to all
That are lost and sick in this dying world
I'll use the love you left behind
I'll change their mind, I'll change their mind
I hope, I hope you smile
When you look down on me
I hope you smile
This can't, we won't know
I hope that I make you proud
This is not what it is, only baby scars
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side
This is not what it is, only baby scars
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side
This is not what it is, only baby scars
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side
And out of place
I believe its time for me to move for forward

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This song is about Austin's mother who died in 2007 of Marfan Syndrome. She died in their family home in Sebring ct. on the corner of 2nd street, hence the name. The song is saying that she taught him so much, and although he misses her he is moving on from his grieving to do what she would want him to do, which is be successful. This song tells that his goal in life is to make his mother proud, and he is letting her know that. It's pretty obvious, actually, if you actually listen to the lyrics.
The ending is epic
yea your right about it being about his mom, him just wanting to make her proud. I love his voice right at the end when they slow it down, he is pretty sick.
@mechatanner it's Shayley Bourget's voice singing
I think that this is the most heartfelt song I've ever listened to. Amazing.
I'll tell everyone a little story... My sophomore year in high school, my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I was 15 turning 16 (around the age Austin was when he lost his mother) when she was diagnosed. I went through a lot emotionally and came to the decision to end my life. I tried to hang myself but that didn't work out too well. On March 21, 2010 I tried to shoot myself. I put my iPod on shuffle and Second & Sebring came on. This song described the pain I felt and the stress I was going through. (My mom did not die though.) It is because of this song that I'm alive today. I was seconds away from pulling the trigger and ending my life and I thank God everyday Austin wrote this song. I have the lyrics, "I hope that I make you PROUD" tattooed on my arm so I'll never forget the strength this song gave me. Thank you Austin Carlile and Of Mice & Men for writing and performing such a powerful and emotional song
oh my god... this made me cry... i'm a guy to. that is amazing. i dont have words to explain. sorry for your loss. you're now my idol.

His mother died when he was 17, on Sebring Court and 2nd Street, and she meant a lot to him. Its about how he wants to make her proud.
this song is about austin's mother
It's about taking his mom for granted and not telling her how much she meant to him while she was alive. Now that she's dead he wants her to know he loves and appreciates her.
Fucking amazing.
totally agree with natzilla... the ending... lol actually as soon as the songs hits 2:27... i cry waterfalls...
