"Five String Serenade" as written by and Arthur Lee....
This is my five string serenade, yeah
Beneath the water I played
And while I'm playing for you
It might be raining there too

And on my easel I drew
While I was thinking of you
But on the roof of my head
In came my five string serenade

This is my five string serenade, yeah
Beneath the water I played
And while I'm playing for you
It might be raining there too

On my easel I drew
While I was thinking of you
But on the roof of my head
Here came my five string serenade!

On my easel I drew
While I was thinking of you
But on the roof of my head
Here came my five string serenade!

This is my five string serenade, yeah
Beneath the water I played
And while I'm playing for you
It might be raining there too

On my easel I drew
While I was thinking of you
But on the roof of my head
Here came my five string serenade

And on my easel I drew
While I was thinking of you
But on the roof of my head
Here came my five string serenade

This is my five string serenade, yeah
Beneath the water I played
And while I'm playing for you
It might be raining there too

On my easel I drew
While I was thinking of you
But on the roof of my head
Here came my five string serenade!

This is my five string serenade...

General CommentThe term "five string serenade" is intended to sound like a simple love song from a guy with his guitar, but in fact it might well refer to the number of string players in the accompaniment.
