No matter how many times that you told me you wanted to leave
No matter how many breaths that you took
You still couldn't breathe
No matter how many nights did you lie
Wide awake to the sound of the poison rain
Where did you go?
Where did you go?
Where did you go?

(Hesitates go by
The night’s on fire)

Tell me, would you kill
To save a life?
Tell me, would you kill
To prove you're right?
Crash, crash
Burn
Let it all burn
This hurricane’s chasing us all underground

No matter how many deaths I die, I will never forget
No matter how many lies I live, I will never regret
There is a fire inside of this heart
A riot about to explode into flames
Where is your God?
Where is your God?
Where is your God?

Do you really want?
Do you really want me?
Do you really want me dead?
Or alive to torture for my sins?

Do you really want?
Do you really want me?
Do you really want me dead?
Or alive to live the lie?

Tell me, would you kill
To save a life?
Tell me, would you kill
To prove you're right?
Crash, crash
Burn
Let it all burn
This hurricane’s chasing us all underground

The promises we made were not enough
(Never play this game again)
The prayers that we had prayed were like a drug
(Never gonna help me here)
The secrets that we sold were never known
(Never sing a song a second time)
The love we had
The love we had
We had to let it go
(Never giving in again, never giving in again)

Tell me, would you kill
To save a life?
Tell me, would you kill
To prove you're right?
Crash, crash
Burn
Let it all burn
This hurricane’s chasing us all underground

Oh, oh, woah
This hurricane
Oh, oh, woah
This hurricane
Oh, oh, woah
This hurricane
Oh, oh, woah

Do you really want?
(Oh, oh, woah)
Do you really want me?
(Oh, oh, woah)
Do you really want me dead?
(Oh, oh, woah)
Or alive to torture for my sins?

Do you really want?
(Oh, oh, woah)
Do you really want me?
(Oh, oh, woah)
Do you really want me dead?
(Oh, oh, woah)
Or alive to live the lie?

Ι believe after all the comments i've read that the song goes for a woman. He is trying to say that sometimes a girl can bring you down or make you a great damage. He is trying to say maybe that love make you weak. That's why in the videoclip he is trying to escape from that. In any scene we have seen a woman, manipulate somehow the other man and in the end the man fall to the trap. Jared knows that and that's why he escapes from the man that he is trying to catch him and put him into a grave. He represent the love, that kind of love that if you fall deep in the end it will kill you. So Jared beat him up (The Love or otherwise the men was sent from the woman) because he believe in a highest purpose for his life, he is trying to escape from this prison. He believes that love is not the real meaning for his life. The love is good but sometimes gives you troubles that you have never imagined. after All i have seen i come to this conclusion

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
