This is not a test.
Not true, this kind of is a test of our endurance.
There's really no one left to place the blame on and hang in at the tee
This ones not relived by a regime, it also took a hundred million
of angry, stupid, scared, pathetic populace to complete the deed.

and it's a long, long way down
and there's no climbing back so wave buh-bye
and its a long, long free dive,
so fill your lungs with air and grab a weight.
It's been a long time coming and well deserved.

It's time to reapply what we call neighborhoods
and start to trust your neighbors.
Circle the figurative wagons and figure it's gonna be
a long painful de-evolution that goes on for decades
America as we know it is finished,
fermenting and flailing.

and it's a long, long way down.
The parachutes are gone so grab a smoke.
and it's a long, long free fall.
no signs of soft landing b-bon voyage.
It's been a long time coming and well deserved.

General CommentI don't really think this about one specific event/administration, but the progression of how America got to where its at today. "Its been a long time coming and well deserved." Its been happening for so long there is no clear cut "bad guy" anymore. Plus its our fault for not doing anything about it when we had a chance. Might as well have a smoke, relax and try to weather the storm.

    Great song by way...

General Commenti think this is about the whole bush behind the 9/11 bombings thing.
i was just in 4th grade when it happened but i remember watching the news before school, and the thing that i remember more than anything was how the people that were so afraid of being burned to death, decided to jump out of the windows. and truly it was a long long way down with no soft landing.
no idea if thats right but this song just gives me the chills and makes me think of when i was watching all those people die on tv as a kid.

General CommentI belive this song is about both the society and the economic situation in the US. And people tend to blame the coverment, but the same people are often to blame for the problem. This related to both how people behave and what leadership the poeple put to power.

The US, both the society, with and because of the economic "caos" there ahve been now over the last years, and how the goverment didn't try to turn the development earlier, is going down - and the situation have gone so far it's extremly hard, if not impossible, to change it fast.

General CommentOur culture and economic climate has been bastardized so many times over, that we should have all seen this coming. But here we are, on our way down. Fat Mike did a great job of capturing the moment. It wasn't long after I heard this song that I lost my job. It's been a struggle ever since. But who gives a shit, right? We all have everything we need to survive on this planet anyway. So let's all enjoy a smoke, watch the whole thing fall and celebrate. Let's face it, most of us are just glorified slaves anyway. The structure of our little society is outdated and boring. I believe we can do better. I don't think 9/11 fits in this song because a failed America was going to happen sooner or later anyway.
