Just wake up, you're goin' nowhere,
It seems to me, that you don't really care.
And now, somethin' I sure won't miss,
Is thinkin' that I could do better than this.

3 AM and still no sign,
Tell me, what is your excuse this time?
It's just another night,
I should've known.
Take your second glance back,
I'm better on my own.
Because I'm through waitin' for you. (Because I'm through waitin' for you)
Now the only thing for you to do is...

Just go! If this life isn't for you.
I know! There's nothing you could do
To show me who you really are.
We both know you're far from being a star.

Just wake up,
You're wasting everyone's time
When you make up all of your Hollywood lines,
And now, something you just don't see, is
You'll never find someone better than me.
Because I'm through waitin' for you. (Because I'm through waitin' for you)
And now the only thing for you to do is...

Just go! If this life isn't for you.
I know! There's nothing you could do
To show me who you really are.
We both know you're far from being a star.
This life just isn't for you.
I know! There's nothing you could do
To show me who you really are.
We both know you're far from being a star.

How long will it take,
Before you can get a hint?
All of the mistakes that I've been keeping in, whoa.
You asked for this last embrace,
Before I turn too and,
But this is the moment I let go.

Wake up, you're goin' nowhere,
It seems to me, that you don't really care.
And now, somethin' I sure won't miss,
Is thinkin' that I could do better than this.

Go! If this life isn't for you.
I know! There's nothing you could do
To show me who you really are.
We both know you're far from being a star.
This life just isn't for you.
I know! There's nothing you could do
To show me who you really are.
We both know you're far from being a star.
(We both know you're far from being a star.)
(Far from being a star)

General CommentLove this song. I think Show me the skyline wants to show that for a person to shine (metaphor - comparing to a star), looks don't matter. It's what is inside of the person that matters. And this girl stood him up.
