"Master Plan" as written by David Jost, Ryan Benjamin Tedder, Dave Roth and Patrick Benzner....
You run away from everything that you fear
So afraid don't wanna be a part of it
You see the fake in every thing that is real
You hate the paradox
You put us in the box

We don't define what makes us right or wrong
Waste of time and we're just livin' it
I wanna see you, touch you, one-on-one
Won't stop until we're done
We've only just begun

[Chorus]
We are the face of a new generation
We are the ones who have no reservation
Don't give a damn 'bout your cold calculation
Welcome to the Master Plan
Don't care if you understand
Don't care if you understand
Welcome to the Master Plan

Your skin is burning at the sight of me
Your mask can't hide what yer thinkin'
Don't as (Don't tell)
Just take whatcha need
I'm an open book
So go on and take a look

We are the face of a new generation
We are the ones who have no reservation
Don't give a damn 'bout your cold calculation
Welcome to the Master Plan
Don't care if you understand
Don't care if you understand
Welcome to the Master Plan

There's you
There's me
I feel your energy
I hope you'll see
Things ain't what they used to be
Look at the face

We are the face of a new generation
We are the ones who have no reservation
Don't give a damn 'bout your cold calculation
Welcome to the Master Plan
Don't care if you understand
Don't care if you understand
Welcome to the Master Plan

Don't care if you under
Welcome to the Master Plan
Don't care if you understand

Song MeaningI think this song is about Adam recognizing the person he's singing to as a closet case, and he's determined to blow that closet open. x3

He talks about hiding things you fear, and the whole "don't ask, don't tell" line, and I think he's talking about how not everyone can be classified as gay and straight when he talks about being pigeon-holed... Not to mention the whole "your skin is burning at the sight of me, your mask can't hide what you're thinking" bit.

I think the "master plan" is, basically, about telling the world that mass-exposure to homosexuality will get them used to it. It's the key to acceptance.

My InterpretationI've always thought the song was about Republicans (Or in general social conservatives) and homosexuality. "You run away from everything that you fear / So afraid, don't wanna be a part of it / You see the fake in everything that is real / You hate the paradox, you put us in a box", and the thing which really gave it away was "Don't ask, don't tell, just take what you need", because of course Don't Ask Don't Tell being the ban on openly gay military members in the USA, and DADT is basically saying "Yeah come and fight for us, but we only want you, not your personal life", which the line basically sums up.
