"Break Your Knees" as written by Sameer Bhattacharya, James Culpepper, Jared Hartmann, Lacey Nicole Sturm and Kirkpatrick Seals....
Breaks your knees and leaves you so
The sun can burn you up and wear you out
It's an angry summer

There's no room to smile
When the face you make just before you cry
Looks so young like a child

The sun will set on this my dear
Your labors aren't in vain
You're blistered and you're burned from it
Your wounds are gonna heal

Life on earth will end for all conceived
And prove to be only a breath,
A mist, a womb for what's to come
How soon forever arrives

The sun will set on this my dear
Your labors aren't in vain
You're blistered and you're burned from it
Your wounds are gonna heal

Steadfast my love
The end is near
Just keep your eyes ahead
Grab hold of me
I'll help you there
You're never on your own
You're never all alone

Life on earth will end for all conceived
And prove to be only a breath,
A mist, a womb for what's to come
How soon forever arrives

Breaks your knees and leaves you so
The sun can burn you up and wear you out
It's an angry summer

Don't look at the past again
The first and last has made everything new
And you are too
So lift your head
And let your story be told
Life on earth will end for all conceived
And prove to be only a breath,
A mist, a womb for what's to come
How soon forever arrives

The sun will set on this my dear
Your labors aren't in vain
You're blistered and you're burned from it
Your wounds are gonna heal (forever arrives)

The sun will set on this my dear
Your labors aren't in vain

Life on earth will end for all conceived
And prove to be only a breath,
A mist, a womb for what's to come
How soon forever arrives

My Interpretationi think this song means that the world will end and it will hurt you and weaken you but you will make it through if you dont give up and that you wont be going through it alone. the "life on earht...forever arrives" part makes me also think that the world will only end for those who are here now but a new age will come and i will protected by god.

General CommentLook at the story of Daniel. Revelations isn't all about the end of the world it's about now and what's to come. Revelation is compiled nicely of all the Old Testament prophets. If you look, in particular at the story for Daniel, and many of the stories, many suffered. This is what the song is about. Suffering, but God taking those labours we find vain and useless and making them eternal. This song is about being a light of the world, and having to put God first before your plan and purpose and sometimes God causes bad things but He also rescues and shapes us. I'm not one to say every song is about Jesus but knowing Flyleaf's beliefs and progression, I for sure have to say that's what this song is about.

My Interpretation"Life on earth will end for all conceived
and prove to be only a breath
a mist, a womb for whats to come"

    In my opinion this means...
"You might not be happy with your current life, but keep in mind that this life is nothing compared to how great heaven will be."

General CommentI this the "life on earth," part is about how our bodies and lives on earth are only temporary and that God has a plan and has had a plan since we were conceived. Also, The "and prove to be a only a breath, a mist, a womb for whats to come.." is aboue how life on earth is only a test and depending how we live it and if we follow Jesus our Savior, we will find eternity with Him in heaven ("How soon FOREVER arrives.") The only thing that is "forever" is heaven.

General Comment"Breaks your knees and leaves you so
the sun can burn you up
    and wear you out
    Its an angry summer
    Theres no room to smile
    When the face you make
just before you cry looks so young
    like a child"
-This life is full of trials and sorrows that cause tears and tire you like the summer heat.

"The sun will set on this, my dear
    Your labors arent in vain
Youre blistered and youre burned from it
    Your wounds are gonna heal"
-Trials and sorrow will come to an end. The things you do while you are here will follow you.

    "Steadfast my love
    the end is near
    Just keep your eyes ahead
    Grab hold of me
    Ill help you there
    Youre never on your own
    Youre never all alone"

-Jesus is coming back soon but until He is ready to take us home, He will always help us through life.

"Life on earth will end for all concieved
and prove to be only a breath
a mist, a womb for whats to come
    How soon forever arrives"
-Everyone's life comes to an end. You will find that even if you lived 100 years, its as an evaporating mist compared to eternity.

"Dont look at the past again
The first and last has made everything new
    and you are too
    so lift your hands
and let your story be told"
    - Jesus is the first and the last, (Alpha and Omega). If he has made you new you can tell someone about how He helped you through.

    "How soon forever arrives."
-No one know the day nor the hour Jesus will return and it will all be over.
