"For Your Entertainment" as written by and Claude/gottwald Kelly....
So hot
Out the box
Can we pick up the pace?
Turn it up,
Heat it up
I need to be entertained
Push the limit
Are you with it?
Baby, don't be afraid
I'm a hurt 'ya real good, baby

Let's go
It's my show
Baby, do what I say
Don't trip off the glitz
That I'm gonna display
I told ya
I'm a hold ya down until you're amazed
Give it to ya 'til your screaming my name

No escaping when I start
Once I'm in I own your heart
There's no way you'll ring the alarm
So hold on until it's over

Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what I'm 'bout to do?
Cause it's about to get rough for you
I'm here for your entertainment

Oh, I bet you thought that I was soft and sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
Well I'm about to turn up the heat
I'm here for your entertainment

It's alright
You'll be fine
Baby, I'm in control
Take the pain
Take the pleasure
I'm the master of both
Close your eyes
Not your mind
Let me into your soul
I'm a work ya 'til your totally blown

No escaping when I start
Once I'm in I own your heart
There's no way to ring the alarm
So hold on until it's over

Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what I'm 'bout to do?
Cause it's about to get rough for you
I'm here for your entertainment

Oh, I bet you thought that I was soft and sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
Well I'm about to turn up the heat
I'm here for your entertainment

Oh oh, mm
Entertainment
Oh oh, oh entertainment
I'm here for your entertainment

Ooh
Do you like what you see?
Woah
Let me entertain ya 'till you scream

Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what I'm 'bout to do?
Cause it's about to get rough for you
I'm here for your entertainment

Oh, I bet you thought that I was soft and sweet (bet ya thought)
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
Well I'm about to turn up the heat (turn up the heat)
I'm here for your entertainment

General CommentThis song is obviously about sex (as stated by Mr. Lambert himself), and it's totally hot. I still don't completely understand the AMA controversy, because his actions were just an extension of the song. It's blatantly about sex, and a three second kiss and mimed blow job reflect the lyrical content. The fact that he refused to apologize made me like him more.

General Commentinteresting interpretation of the song by members "for your entertainment and adorabell" I think you are right.

I hadn't thought of that..yes, I agree that it is a song with double meaning and interpretation which are always more interesting and a creativeinteresting interpretation of the song by members "for your entertainment and adorabell"

I hadn't thought of that..yes, I agree that it is a song with double mean.

The obvious one is being aobut kinky, rough, s&m type sex, but it has a 2nd meaning talking about that very performance on the AMC show--his first more public debut after idol where many last saw him to show a side of him he couldn't on idol--a different side of him--more who he feels he really is.

He tells the audience who he hopes will be someone he can control by his power and magnetism and who they thought he was on idol..no uhuh you were wrong in who you thought I was...I am much more daring than that.

"Oh, I bet you thought I was soft and sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
But I'm about to turn up the heat

and then reminds us but it is for us when he says

    I'm here for your entertainment"

He is as Kris says Adam being who he really is...and letting us know hold on you are about to be shocked and blown away.

he is telling us this show is to entertain us

    So hot out the box
Can you pick up the pace?
Turn it up Heat it up I need to be entertained

here he turns it back to him..saying he needs to do and be more than he could before and now he will be turning up the heat as this will also entertain him and make him well ...you got the visual of his being satisfied till he ..s with satisfaction of being allowed full control of his work

he is telling us with this song he is pushing the limit..and to go with it audience..just go with the flow even it is is painful or not something you want to do as he is in control, but assuring us don't worry yopu are going to like it in the end.

"push the limit are you with it baby don't be afraid"

he wants to be in charge and will be despite any rehearsal otherwise by doing it his way

    "Let's go, it's my show"

he is saying don't be put off by the graphic theatrics as he is going to amaze us and when he is done, we will be screaming his name (and wildly applauding")

"Don't trip off the glitz that I'm gonna display
I told you i'ma hold you down until you're amazed
give it to you till you're screaming my name"

that noone can stop him once he gets started..I am certain he knew this would cause controversy and had his reply already ready for the shows that he knew would be calling him as people stood around the water cooler discussing it that he just got carried away..don't buy it for a minute..he was totally in control of how he wanted it to play out..he learned from idol controversy keeps people tuned in he is going to use it for all he is worth..also in it is a big F.U. to the network as to the audience at the end with the finger..plus he said he got competitive and he wanted the conversation to be about him the next day hoping to stand out among the other glitzy professional that night. Don't trip off all this glitz he says as he is going to do his best to out glitze all the rest and win the spotlight.

    "no escaping when I start
Once I'm in I own your heart
There's no way to ring the alarm
So hold on until it's over"

Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what i'm about to do?
Cause it's about to get rough for you
    I'm here for your entertainment

above sung to all listening network, audience bringing us both pain and pleasure as people take up sides
whether they hated it or loved it (pain and pleasure)

I think maybe when he says take the pain, take the pleasure he is saying it doesn't matter what you feel form this this I am doing/in charge of, I will still wind up a winner from it as he is a master in manipulating both upsetting and making happy if it is what it takes to get where he plans to go...to the top.

He is reminding us..do not overthink it, don't be closeminded by close your eyes and go with the moment. Keep loving me even when I am a bad boy and you will be glad as I can keep taking you to new heights.

"It's all right, you'll be fine, baby I'm in control
Take the pain, take the pleasure
    I'm the master of both
Close your eyes, not your mind
    Let me into your soul
I'm a work you till you you're totally blown

again more dialogue with the audience above and below

    No escaping when I start
Once I'm in I own your heart
There's no way to ring the alarm
So hold on until it's over

know that he is in the midst of his act (double entandre) he is saying hold on, I will have you sacreaming for more, screeaming my name and eating out of my hand when he says ..

Do you like what you see?
Let me entertain you till you scream

I think this makes the song rather interesting. I never saw this double meaning until 2 people mentioned it and it is absolutely meant to have two meanings and he wants us be the master of doing it his way and is saying you are my willing slaves but I want you to be so happy you will come back for more.

He is pretty smart if he wrote this as he gets to give us two messages he wants the song top convey..it doesn't matter if we see beyond the sex meaning as he is trying to assert his control over what he sings/does and if we are aware of his manipulations or controlling us is not that revalent..just that he is so good that we go along with it and then hopefully will want to come back for more.

Just in case we don't like it..he has plan b or his "excuses" ..it just happened. I was trying to make the song exciting by adding interpreting the lyrics..I did not plan it...it did get people talking and draw discussion about the show..I am not kid's babysitters...I did nothing wrong..it is sexist if girls kissed same sex and I can't (mising that many have no problem with his being gay or kissing the guy but rather with seeing simulated oral sex and touching the genitals of others.

the whole song was done to push the envelope...isn't that what simon always says....but he could not push that envelope on idol as Kris reminds us..

performer would be able to think of that and do it.

The obvious first menaing is being aobut kinky, rough, s and m type sex, but it is also his debut after idol where many last saw him into a different side of him

he tells the audience who he hopes will be someone he can control by his power and magnetism and who they thought he was on idol

Song MeaningI can see how people could see how this song could be about sex, because it does have its mentions, but as far as rape goes, how does the lyric, “Take the pain, Take the pleasure” fit the meaning of rape. There is nothing pleasurable about rape. Sex, yes, but rape, no, there is no pleasure. Though with people thinking this song is about sex, just saying that it’s about sex, it seems to boring and basic, so if anything regarding sex, this song has its mentions about rough sex.

But I think that this song is COMPLETELY and ENTIRELY about BDSM (Bondage & Discipline/Dominance & Submission/Sadism & Masochism).

Note: At the beginning of the song, it sounds as if the beat in the background is like someone hitting someone with a riding crop three times and then the forth hit is a whip snapping.

    So hot out the box
-Its stepping out of the box, so mixing up your normal routine.
Can you pick up the pace?
-I think its about skipping foreplay and just getting right into what he has planned.
Turn it up Heat it up I need to be entertained
    -Self explanatory. He needs entertainment.
Push the limit are you with it baby don't be afraid
-With stepping out of the box (the first line), pushing limits and experiencing a dark side, and to not be afraid of it
Ima hurt you real good baby
    -BDSM, Domination
    Let's go, it's my show
-Saying he’s a dominator and that it’s his show to control
    Baby do what I say
    -Submission, listening to her dominator
Don't trip off the glitz that I'm gonna display
-Knowing that she will get excited when she sees the “toys”
I told you ima hold you down until you're amazed
-You’re in his control till your amazed
Give it to you till you're screaming my name
    -He’s not stopping

    No escaping when I start
-Bondage, you’re tied up, you can’t go anywhere
Once I'm in I own your heart
    -Dominator will have complete control
There's no way to ring the alarm
-An alarm could be a safe word, but if there is no way to ring it, then the submissive could be wearing a gag, or there could be no safe word
So hold on until it's over
-Hold on for the wild ride, cause its not stopping

Oh, do you know what you got into?
    -Self explanatory.
Can you handle what I’m about to do?
-Self explanatory. He’s going all out. Pushing limits
Cause it's about to get rough for you
-BDSM, its rough on its own.
    I'm here for your entertainment
    -Its entertainment. Self explanatory.

Oh, I bet you thought I was soft and sweet
-Seeing the domination is a surprise, think he was only sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
    -Same explanation as line before
But I'm about to turn up the heat
-Could be like a turn on. Getting turned on. Self explanatory
    I'm here for your entertainment
    -Its entertainment. Self explanatory.

It's all right, you'll be fine, baby I'm in control
-When as a couple, finally starting to experiment on BDSM play, you do need to find a partner that you can trust. You’re putting your self in a completely vulnerable situation, so you need some you can trust to make sure you remain safe. So it’s saying that you can trust me with what I’m about to do to you.
Take the pain, take the pleasure
-BDSM is to experience pain, but it brings pleasure
    I'm the master of both
-Master of both pain and pleasure, so a master of Domination
Close your eyes, not your mind
-Closing your eyes, I though of a blindfold. When you’re blindfolded, it obviously limits your sight, so it heightens your other senses, so you feel more. Then with the mind, it’s having an open mind; being open to the experience and all that you’re feeling. So I think that then connects to the possible blindfold, heightening your other senses so being open to new sensitivity, whether is pain or pleasure.
    Let me into your soul
    -Let the dominator control you
I'm a work you till you you're totally blown
-Saying that you’re going to be absolutely amazed.

    Song is about gay sex.

Don't trip off the bits that I'm gonna display
I told you i'ma hold you down until you're amazed
give it to you till you're screaming my name

It's all right, you'll be fine, baby I'm in control
Take the pain, take the pleasure

I'm a work you till you're totally blown

Do you like what you see?
Let me entertain you till you scream

And of course the chorus. Well played Adam. Well played.

Song MeaningIt's about a performance by Adam.

"Take the pain, take the pleasure
    I'm the master of both"

The pleasure: when he's upbeat, wild, and crazy. (Born to be Wild, Whole Lotta Love)
The pain: those sad, heart-wrenching songs (Mad World, If I can't Have you)

"Give it to you till you're screaming my name"

Of course, when the audience is cheering his name.

The sex is a double entendre, probably put in as a joke, just for fun. His fans know he likes to tease. But really, it's just about a show he's giving.

    Love it. <3

General CommentForYourEntertainment: FYI... No its not. Pbbbt.

I love this song. It's totally hot. Just because Adam is homosexy... doesn't mean the song is necessarily about homosexual sex. It can be about any kind of sex. The great thing for us girls is that Adam's songs can be sung by us to a guy... or sung by a guy to a girl. Its androgynous (anti-sexual in a way).

I love Adam. I hope he gets the attention he deserves. I loved David Cook but none of the idols seem to get very far. Hopefully Adam changes that.

General CommentI love this song. Love the music, the beat, the...you know, the glow, the heat, the passion. Yes I see this song being about sex, not definitely gay sex, but as a fag hag I wouldn't mind if it were...

Find it rather funny how much people read in to lyrics, in like the opposite.

I got Adams' cd at christmas and played his record in the car with my family the next day. I loved this song from the first time I heard it so I pressed repeat a few times and turned up the volume as much as you can in a car with respect to the other people in it... And I thought my sisters boyfriend looked at me rather strange and funny but I thought he just didn't like my taste in music.
But later at home when I started listening to the lyrics... well it was rather embarrassing. I laugh about it of curse but come on, knowing anything at all about Adam you'd think you'd be a little bit suspicious to his songs and lyrics but nooo...
Glad I'm not a guy though, my family would probably have taken that as me outing myself.
