It's silent tonight
I'm trying to wrap my head around
If everything will be alright
And how you didn't have to do it now

And I don't
know how
you managed to sleep with
knowing that you abandoned me at the worst time
but I will

Fight the fight and
keep defying
I'd give up, but I keep trying
To fight the fight,
it's in my wiring
this is how you made me
To fight the fight
and keep on fightin'
I'd give up, but I'd be lying to me

Faith, welcome back
it's been awhile since we hung out
have you come to get me back on track?
you know they didn't have to do this now

But I don't have no
Time to waste for me now
About how they abandoned me at the worst time

So I will
Fight the fight and
Keep defying
I'd give up, but I keep trying
To fight the fight,
It's in my wiring
this is how you made me
To fight the fight
And keep on fightin'
I'd give up, but I'd be lying to me

What would I do now
if you weren't here to pull me out?
What would I do now
If I didn't have my friends?
What would I do now
If you weren't here

And as the trouble chases me
Bring me guidance
Be with me to

Fight the fight and
Keep defying
I'd give up,
but I keep trying
To fight the fight
It's in my wiring
This is how you made me
To fight the fight
And keep on fightin'
I'd give up, but I'd be lying to me

I'd give up, but I'd be lying
So fight the fight and keep defying
I'd give up, but I'd be lying to me
I'd give up, but I'd be lying to me
I'd give up, but I'd be lying to me

Oh gosh, this song is so great. The lyrics are so enthusiastic and it's a really good reminder, I think. It reminds me a lot of my last relationship, in which it really wasn't something that I was proud of, I was falling away from Christ really quickly. When we finally broke up, it was like being that hurt and vulnerable gave me the chance for God to come find me and take me back.

"Faith, welcome back it's been awhile since we hung out have you come to get me back on track? you know they didn't have to do this now"

These lyrics are so perfect for this, it's like we really can fall back into our relationship with God, even if we haven't been up to our best behavior. I think it's so inspiring to know that He'll be back for you, as long as you want him here. LOVE this song, especially these lyrics!

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
