I was sitting in the car in a garage on Woodlands Road
When a big blonde caught my eye
I was staring into space just gazing and by she strode
And I let slip a little sigh

It took another second or two for it to click
That that big blonde was you
And I gaped and goggled my gaze could not unstick
As though I fell for you a new

And I was thinking of forever
And I was wondering why your mine
And I hope whatever happens we'll be fine

Then fate threw a curious surprise into my vista
Shuffling by my ardent peepers
If it wasn't for the walk I'm sure I would have missed her
One of my heart's former keepers

And confident I was my heart was sadly struck
By an absence of attraction
I took off and with a promise I could not give a fuck
I didn't fancy her one fraction

And I briefly felt embarassed about the way I used to feel
And at least these days I know that love is real
And I hope that we're forever
And I'm wondering why you're mine
Whatever happens darling we'll be fine

General CommentNot sure about the "And confident I was my heart was sadly struck" line, any suggestions?

Think the songs prettyself explanatory, the singer sees an old flame and can't believe he used to fancy her. The lines beginning with "And..." are addressed to his current girlfriend.

General Commentcouple of mistakes from the version i heard methinks, that second last verse to me sounds like

On clocking who it was I found I was promptly struck
    By an abscence of attraction
I can confidently promise I could not give a fuck
I didnt fancy her one fraction

and just cause its annoying me think its "a nano second" and not "another second" at verse 2, but thats me just being wide :)
realise probably no ones gonna change this but ho hum
