Happy Anniversary
You won't be getting gifts from me
And after all that we went through
They're expecting me to let you go
I wouldn't leave

Happy Anniversary
All's I've got are memories
Parking lots and helipads
Iron lungs and red lights flashing by
I heard raindrops fall
And the sirens wailed

Oo wee oh oh
Oo wee oh oh oh oh oh
I still wish I could have said goodbye

Happy Anniversary
Things get better all the time
I'm getting used to my new life
But I still keep your photo by my bed
You're there every night
While the baby cries

Oo wee oh oh
Oo wee oh oh oh oh oh
I still wish I could have said goodbye

General CommentThis song is about a wife or girlfriend that died. The first chorus represents the sirens of the ambulance that carried her to the hospital. In the second chorus, the crying baby echoes the sirens. Such a beautifully sad way to express the mixed joy and sadness that comes with raising a baby after the other parent has died.

This song was written by Thomas Orgren.
