"Dirty Night Clowns" as written by and Chris Garneau....
Pick me up and hose me down
I'm sorry boys about the dirty night clowns
The Earth does bright, the things that we make
Like a model planes and gooey cakes

I can't clear the leaves from here
They're too far under the brush this year
I can't clear the leaves from here
They're too far under the brush this year

Let them be buried, buried alive
In their suits, in their ties
Trees to shade the moves that they made
In their suits, in their ties
Let them be buried, buried alive
In their suits, in their ties
You're safe here, now you're in the clear
Now we'll eat soup and apple pies

I can't clear the leaves from here
They're too far under the brush this year
I can't clear the leaves from here
They're too far under the brush this year

I will never be dirt-free
Hold me, hold me
Like a baby

(La da da da da da da dumb
Da da da da dum)
X2

I can't clear the leaves from here
They're too far under the brush this year

My InterpretationThis is my random interpretation of this very hard to comprehend song hahaha.

Pick me up, hose me down
I'm sorry boys about the dirty night clowns
Earth does break the things that we make
Like a model planes and cuppy cakes

(Try and clean my act, and figure out what I am covered with,
Sorry guys about the weird entertainment (eccentric personality)
The world tries to break who we are or what we do
Whether we are gifted one way, or gifted another)

I can't clear the leaves from here
They're too far under the brush this year
I can't clear the leaves from here
They're too far under the brush this year

(I can’t change so you will understand me
my traits grow with me as a whole more each year)

Let them be buried, buried alive
In their suits, in their ties
Trees to shade the moves that they made
In their suits, in their ties
Let them be buried, buried alive
In their suits, in their ties
You're safe here, now you're in the clear
Now we'll eat soup and apple pies

    (Conformist means nothing to me
    They shouldn’t exist
they change beauty and truth to manipulation
Business people and the lesser spirited
    Should not exist
When they are gone, let’s do what eccentrics love to do
Eat and enjoy the little things in life

    I will never be dirt-free
Up the stairs come find me,
    Come sneak up behind me
    I'll be sleeping soundly
    Like a baby

(I will always be a free eccentric spirit, and because of it–I am always chased. I am happy because of my innocence, and conniving people will try and sneak to affect that. )

General Commenthate to break it to you, but this song is about a man/some men who used to dress up as clowns and sneak into kid's bedrooms late at night and sexually abuse them.

the song is referring to the men and how they should be "buried alive" for the "moves they make"

the line "i will never be dirt-free" refers to the victims of the attacks and how its a scarring experience.

the verse about "up the stairs come find me" is particularly disturbing.

the only part i dont understand is the chorus about the leaves.

General CommentThe "dirty night clowns" can also be generalized to refer to any and all child molesters. The chorus ("I can't clear the leaves from here; they're too far under the brush this year") refers to how the "dirty night clowns" have "trees to shade the moves that they made." The "fallout" of those trees are leaves that pile up under the "brush" (another word for "bushes"). I think this refers to the psychological damage of such abuse and the difficulty of facing and finally overcoming it.

General Comment-i can't believe no one has commented on THIS song yet. I think this song may be by far my FAVORITE song on the el radio album. Every single part of this song is amazing, the way he says,
"Let them be buried, buried alive
In their suits, in their ties
Trees did shake the moves that they make
In their suits, in their ties" is simply incredible!

Not only that, but the changes in sounds, music, melodys, rhythms, etc. throughout the song is unparralled!

    Simply Amazing!

    My InterpretationMy Interpretation :

Clean me of my bad deeds
I'm sorry about the 'Dirty Night Clowns'
    Earth does corrupt us all

    Chorus :
    I can't clear the evidence
    I'm in too deep
    I can't clear the evidence
    I'm in too deep

Let those shameful "clowns" be buried alive for their deeds
( In their suits, in their ties )
They're shady and sneaky about it
( In their suits, in their ties )

No one will catch them here, they're in the clear
Now they can relax and be happy

I will never be innocent, or clear of the "dirt" of my actions
Come find me, you can sneak up behind me but you won't catch me in the act because by the time you get "upstairs", the evidence will be gone. ( I'll be sleeping soundly, like a baby ).

This is how I interpreted the song
