Pat we need your brains back
Pat we need your fire
and your imagination

Pat we know you fucked up
but we don't care you fucked up
everybody's fucked up

thought I heard your voice
the other night
and sure enough it came
from you
thought I'd be surprised
that you weren't dead
but all I was was glad

just sitting by your bed
and talking to your head
and hearing what you said
as if you'd never left

can't you see yourself yet
can't you see through our eyes
can't you see the truth

nothing's worse than never
falling in a dream's where
we can see together

saw you the other night
have to say
something wasn't right
of course
but I didn't mind
cuz seeing you
being all alive

just walkin in the room
made me so relieved
like everything was fine
and you had never died
or second guessed your mind
or gave up on our trust
thought you'd gone too far
for us to take you back
but distances like that, Pat
don't exist in fact

this is one of the best bts songs ive heard in a long time... kind of theres nothing wrong with love-ish. this whole new album is surprisingly awesome!

well, for songmeanings: think this about someone who committed suicide? and maybe doug is envisioning these encounters with pat in his head? or is this about someone who actually fucked up in someway, is still alive, and actually came back to reconcile? im thinking pat is dead.

    My Interpretation

I believe the song is an ode to Pat Brown, one of Dug's old bandmembers from 'Treepeople' who passed away (i'm not sure why or how).

What is most heartwarming is that fact that the song features guest guitarist Scott Schmaljohn, the former co-leader (along with Dug) of Treepeople. The song itself is very reminiscent of older Treepople songs.

In essance, it's two older guys singing about their good friend who died, and how they still see and talk to "him" (his influence) every day.

this stanza is amazing because it fits perfectly with how i feel about someone in my life who recently commited suicide.. like everything was fine like you had never second guessed your mind or gave up on our trust thought you'd gone too far for us to take you back.. because usually people commit suicide because of things like depression, things that are within their own mind and they think they're alone when there are people surrounding them the whole time. does that make sense? the song makes perfect sense and i can relate.

"can't you see yourself yet can't you see through our eyes can't you see the truth"

That stanza is clearly telling a person who hates himself that he is not like he thinks he is. A very heartwarming song.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
