Oh don't say it just don't say it
Ah shit it just came out
Once again, I couldn't hold it in
That's my tragic flaw without a doubt
She's wearin' joggin' pants she's
Buyin' sweat shirts
And you know that's fine with me
'Cause that might cover the chance
That another boy might see

That she's
Beautiful
But she's going away
Everything that runs in my head
I just have to say
Because I'm selfish
And a bit insecure
But her reassuring words
Will always be the cure

And I know there's gonna be nights
There's gonna be nights on the phone
When all we'll do is fight
But I got to remember now she's on her own
And I want to be the good guy so bad
In fact it's in my head
If she says something that bothers me just a tad
I'll hold it in instead

'Cause she's
Beautiful
But she's going away
Everything that runs in my head
I just have to say
Because I'm selfish
And a bit insecure
But her reassuring words
Will always be the cure

And she's
Beautiful
But she's on the next train
Everything that runs in my head
I just have to say
Because I'm selfish
And a bit insecure
But her reassuring words
Will always be the cure

General CommentSounds like a new long-term relationship. Starts off with them talking on the phone with him wanting to say something that was on his mind but knows he should hold off, "ah shit it just came out" (been there, done that). He wants her to still be his and is happy with her dressed-down, low-maintenance perhaps, "cool" dresscode because it doesn't scream to get other guys attention and is more likely to keep her as his girlfriend.

Chorus... she's out of town for now, she's on his mind but when he talks to her he's reassured and good again. Second verse... he has to be careful to not leave things on a sour note when they have arguements because you never know what's truly going on on her end (and who she may vent to, perhaps). Instead of getting mad, he bites his tongue and keeps things on the up-and-up.

My InterpretationApparently, it's about Max's ex. Cute. And sad.
