"Through The Trees" as written by and Andrew A. Ampaya Ryan A. Levine....
All alone in an empty room
Nothing left but the memories of when
I had my best friend
And I don't know how we ended up here
I don't know but it's never been so clear
We made a mistake, dear
And I see
The broken glass in front of me
I see
Your shadow hanging over me
And your face, I can see

Through the trees
I will find you
I will heal
The ruins left inside you
'Cause I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
Until I'm set free
Goin' quiet through the trees

And I remember how we used to talk
About the places we would go when we were
All and all that we were gonna find
And I remember watching our seeds grow
And how you cried when you saw the first leaf show
The love was pouring from your eyes

So can you see
The branches hanging over me
Can you see
The love you left inside of me
And my face
Can you see

Through the trees
I will find you
I will heal the ruins left inside you
'Cause I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
Until I'm set free
Goin' quiet through the trees

'Cause you're not coming back
And you're not coming back
No, No, No
You're not coming back
You're not coming back

Take my breath
As your own
Take my eyes
To guide you home

'Cause I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
And I'm still here

'Cause I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
And I'm still here

'Cause I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
I'm still here breathing now
And I'm still here

And you're not coming back
And you're not coming back
'Cause you're not coming back
Until I'm set free
I'm goin' quiet through the trees

My InterpretationThrough the Trees by Low Shoulder
A broken friendship sometimes leaves us in pain and we longed to repair the ruins. The idea how the speaker would give everything just to restore their relationship was the main theme of this song. I think anybody can relate to this. Sometimes we need to sacrifice a thing in order to make someone happy, and sometimes we hurt the people we love, and in the end we feel sorry. Sometimes we blame ourselves for things that happen and we feel obliged to correct our mistakes and make up for them especially if we knew that we are the reason why our bond with a certain person was broken. I think most of us come to the point that we regret things that we do, and sometimes we were on a stage of saying “If only I could turn back the time….If only I could undo everything…..” Based on my own experience, hurting someone and asking forgiveness is not enough for you to be able to achieve inner peace. I think the one you hurt would also say the word, “I forgive you”. And the most painful part of a broken relationship as of course the moment you realize that no matter or whatever it is that you will do, things will never be the same again.
To be able to gain what is lost is a difficult and painful process, and can only be achieve if both person will set aside anger, hate and pain, and let only love to flow in their hearts.
I also love the idea of what the friend might do in order for his friend as reflected in the lines, “take my breath as your own, take my eyes to guide you home”. It reminds me of things that some friends had done for me and it’s just amazing to have a friend who is willing to do certain things for you and they do it because they love you.

General CommentThe movie is pure awesomeness and I really like the song...it grows on me each time I watch the movie. The lyrics make me think of losing someone, whether it be from death or the end of a relationship. And wanting that person back and not seeing an end to wanting them back. So much that you will wait for them forever..."until I'm set free" could mean either by death or finally somehow getting over losing that person. They know that this person isn't coming back...but still...they wait. Painful.

My Interpretationthe song, in my own interpretation is about having someone you really love that he/she becomes your best friend and you spend a lot of time with each other but time comes that you argue for some reason/s and thus it leads your relationship to fall apart and then you realized each others mistakes and ended up realizing you love that someone more than anything but it's all been said and done. Then you do things to make things right and save the relationship but then it seems like that someone is tired and have already give up. So the feelings you shared is still there yet it's broken now and though you already know that someone is never ever coming back, you still wait until you heal and accept the fact that it's really over and you just have to let go :(

My InterpretationI believe it's about the death of a loved one.

The 'mistake' and 'broken glass' sounds like maybe it was a car wreck? Maybe while intoxicated?

There's an overwhelming sense of guilt and grief... but what he -really- wants is to remember the love that they shared instead of the pain. He uses trees that they planted together (seeds grow, leaf show) as a visceral way to connect.

'Through the trees' isn't a physical act of walking or seeing someone -between- trees, but remembering them by way of what they left behind together.

If he can find the love instead of the pain/guilt, he can forgive himself for their death and him still being alive.

General CommentThis song talks about the singer loosing a loved one who passed away (memories of when I had my best friend). Perhaps in an accident (We made a mistake and broken glass in front of me)?.

Remembers all the good time they had together going different places and see their children grow (remember our seeds grow)

At the end he regrets being alive but knows that soon he will join her.

General Commentfor me,this song is about friendship that was broken with some reasons.i had a friend whom i consider my best and i hurt him unintentionally.i was like asking who made the mistake and definitely it was me.but everything was not clear between us so i was on the edge of asking how we ended up in the situation where we are not talking anymore and we are back to being strangers to each other.i was like asking for forgiveness to what i somehow done to him but he was like avoiding me and ignoring me.i promise myself that i would help him but it pained because in the end i was the one to hurt him. and this was me saying that i will find him and heal the ruins i somehow brought in his life.i feel that there was no one who could definitely help him but me because i was one of the reasons why his life was in ruins.what now left me was the memories we shared and those times when we are happy.it was painful to recall those things especially when you are alone.now, i want nothing but to restore those broken friendship.it was hard and still was floating in the air.i do feel that even if i can do it, things will never be the same between us again.this song was like our story.i was like dedicating this song to him, telling him that i will do my best to help him the way he had help me.it was me hoping and believing that i could make everything right in the end.

General Commenti think it is about someone leaving their love(memories of when I had my best friend) for someone else. they come to realize they made a mistake (it's never been so clear we made a mistake, dear)
They realize their mistake now but they can't have their best friend back so they are trying to make the current person theyre with happy
