"Me and My Bass Guitar" as written by and Victor Lemonte Wooten....
My name is Vic, I'm gonna do a little trick.
I'm gonna play my bass without usin' a pick.
Traveled 'round the world and back again.
I'm just taken my bass out for a spin, 'if you know what I'm sayin.'

And if you're ever looking for me,
Don't go too far.
'Cause if you really want to find me
You know where I "are".
With me and my bass guitar! 'You say it.'
Me and my bass guitar! 'That's right.'

You see I try to eat right,
Take care of my health,
Set myself up,
Don't upset myself.
'Cause I improvise,
Call it "ad lib".
Give what you like
'Cause I like what you give.
And if you ever come to my house,
I'll tell you what you'll see.
A house full of nothing,
Just my four strings and me.

And if you're ever looking for me,
Don't go too far.
And if you really want to find me
You know where I 'are'.
With me and my bass guitar! 'Yeah', you say it now.'
Me and my bass guitar! 'That's right.'

"Oh Lord, It's getting a little too funky.
We're gonna have to light a match. Maybe some incense. etc."

Get up off of that funk!
Get up off of that... Ugh!
Get up off of that funk!
Get up off of that... Ugh!

"Yeah... Too funky. etc.
Yo, Vic. Do that... umm do that... Yeah! etc."

Me and my bass guitar!
That's right, just my four strings and me.
Me and my bass guitar!
I'f you're looking for me you know where I "are".
Me and my bass guitar!
That's right.
Me and my bass guitar!
I hate to leave you but I've got to move.
Me and my bass guitar.
I've got to go.
Me and my bass guitar!
Me and my bass guitar!
Yeah, we're having fun know.
Me and my bass guitar!
Me and my bass guitar!

"Yeah, that's right. Turn it back up.
We're still going. Don't turn it down.
The man was gonna turn down my music. etc."

Jiggle Butt...

"etc."

General Comment This is a really fun song, I had a great time submiting these lyrics. I may have gotten some parts wrong and I left out a lot of the talking in the background (it was way too hard to hear and too much to write down), so if you think I messed up rather badly, write a comment saying so. I really don't know who was talking and singing backup so I left that out in the accompanying artist section, so comment on that if you know who everyone was.
This is one of my favorite Victor Wooten songs in which he sings. It really shows how well Vic can groove as well as how righteous his percussive playing technique is. I always want to sing along when I hear this song come on, well except maybe the jiggle butt part (at least that's what I think they're saying...), it's just so catchy and upbeat.
If you're looking for some insight on the personality of one of the world's best bassists, look no further. You can really tell that Victor Wooten has good sense of humor as well as a relentless amount of dedication towards his craft from this song. I can't help but have the utmost respect for this guy.
