"No Dream Can Heal A Broken Heart" as written by Toni Kakko, Henrik Klingenberg, Tommy Portimo, Marko Paasikoski and Elias Viljanen....
My dream, it seems, fails to see the mornings
My one and only aim
I hear you breathe, I'm not alone in the darkness
I feel something on my lips I should not

One, too many poison kisses
And I'm drowning in the deepest see
I found my destination, what I'm here for
I'm knocking on my heaven's door

One day we will run out of tomorrows
And yesterday's become the stuff our dreams are made of

Until today, I lived in the shadow world
Now heart is speaking, brain's defeated
Independent thought deleted

One too many poisoned kisses
And I'm drowning in your deepest sea
I found my destiny, something I'm here for
I'm knockin' on my heaven's door.

And the map to find my sleepin' wishes
Is hidden where I cannot see
When I'm awake, I need your poison kisses
To fall back in a living dream

"Why do you fear to long for my love, please be strong.
If your heart can hear a song, you can't go wrong
So repose your trust in me, save this love, live and see
If the life beyond this dream is what you seek"

"Fill your deepest wishes,
Come take my poison kisses
Life is too short, this golden hour lats for a lifetime"

Give me your poison kiss,
Now, come night, I need my sleeping wish
Help me dream again, somehow kiss me now

With your poisoned lips
Oh, come night, I want my missing wish
Help me get one kiss, somehow
Hold me now

No dream can heal a broken heart
When we're apart

On the sea of wishes
My dream that no one misses
Tears me apart, always somehow
Goodbye love

General CommentAlright, let's give this a go.

My dream, it seems, fails to see the mornings
    My one and only aim
I hear you breathe, I'm not alone in the darkness
I feel something on my lips I should not

The narrator is telling us about how he is in love with this girl, and only sees her in his dreams, but they never come true. Having his dream of being with her is his only goal in life. In his dream his girl kisses him, but he knows that he shouldn't let her.

    One, too many poison kisses
And I'm drowning in the deepest sea
I found my destiny, something I'm here for
I'm knocking on my heaven's door

He refers to the kisses as poison because he knows that nothing but hurt is going to come from them, and he's just hurting them. He describes his pain as "drowning in the deepest sea". He has found true love in this girl though, and says it's his destiny and he's going to get it.

One day we will run out of tomorrows
And yesterday's become the stuff our dreams are made of

Ok, here I think he's talking to the girl he loves, who clearly doesn't love him back, and he's trying to convince her to be with him by telling her that soon, there will be no more time to be with anyone else, and he wants to dream about all the things they'd do as a couple.

Until today, I lived in the shadow world
Now heart is speaking, brain's defeated
    Independent thought deleted...

Here I think he wins the girl back, although she doesn't feel as strong for him like he does to her. Here we also see something that can be seen a lot in real life situations. He is so in love with her, but he knows that being with her will only cause him pain in the end, which is brain is telling him, however his love for her is too strong, so it blocks out the warnings his brain is telling him.

    One too many poisoned kisses...
And I'm drowning in your deepest sea
I found my destiny, something I'm here for...
I'm knockin' on my heaven's door.

And the map to find my sleeping wishes
Is hidden where I cannot see
When I'm awake, I need your poison kisses
To fall back in a living dream...

Alright, here the narrator is wanting to know what he has to do to win his love back for good, or "map" if you will. When he awakes from his dreams about her he is realizing that it is all fake, and he needs her "poison kisses" or lies, to calm himself down and continue living his "dream".

"Why do you fear to long for my love, please be strong.
If your heart can hear a song, you can't go wrong...
So repose your trust in me, save this love, live and see
If the life beyond this dream is what you seek..."

Here it's his love speaking. She's telling him to be strong in his feelings for her. That if he can hear a "song" when he sees her then he's found the right one. I'm guessing the love betrayed the lover, which he why they broke up, and now she's telling him to trust her again. And then the last line she tells him that once he dies, he'll be able to live his dream with her.

    "Fill your deepest wishes,
    Come take my poison kisses
Life is too short, this golden hour lats for a lifetime..."

Here she's telling him to futfill his dreams by taking her kisses, which she knows shes giving him falsely. Even though it's false he should enjoy it because he'll have the memories, even if it hurts.

    Give me your poison kiss,
Now, come night, I need my sleeping wish
Help me dream again, somehow kiss me now

He's asking her to send him into a sleep with her kiss, so that he can dream about her.

    With your poisoned lips
Oh, come night, I want my missing wish
Help me get one kiss, somehow
    Hold me now

No dream can heal a broken heart...
    When we're apart...

Ok, here he finally comes out and admits that his dreams are not true, and that all she's doing to him is hurting him, and it broke his heart. By "when we're apart" he means that when they're not together in a relationship, not just physically in the same room which i'm sure some people will think it as.

    ...On the sea of wishes
My dream that no one misses
    Tears me apart, always somehow
    Goodbye love...

Again, he's saying how his dreams are great, and he wishes that they could become reality and he could be with his love, but all it does is hurt him and break his heart further. At the end he simply says goodbye to her, perhaps for forever.

General CommentAmazing song, one of my favorites from the cd.

I hear a sort of orintal sound in the beginning. and after listening to it, i have a sort of theory:

theres a guy whoes in love with a girl in his past. she rejected him long ago. flash to the present. he found her again, but shes now a callgirl. he indulges his broken dream, but it won't heal his heart now.
the poisin kiss(es) might refer to some sort of disease she now has. the love will kill him/her or something.

I'm in love with Johanna Kurkela's (the female) voice in this song. i get shivers when i hear her (just wish it went longer!).

    great song.

General CommentI absolutely love this song!

I pretty much agree with Stryfe14's point of view, though I see things in a bit different way:

Basically, the song is about a guy who was in a relationship, which is now over - probably she dumped him, or they just couldn't be together anymore. The thing is he still loves the girl, and being apart is too painful for him.

He's so emotionally wrecked about the goodbye that he starts to dream about her, leaving racionality behind ( 'Now heart is speaking, brain's defeated' ) and somehow creates a new reality (in his dreams) where they are together again. Even though it`s very hurtful for him to wake up and find it was nothing but a dream, that`s the way he chose to ease his pain.

''One day we will run out of tomorrows
And yesterday's become the stuff our dreams are made of''
He just can`t foresee a future without his love, so he dreams about the past when they were happy together.

''No dream can heal a broken heart...
    When we're apart...''
Actually it was only when i read this final lines that dawned on me that he was dreaming about the whole thing.

This song is absolutely amazing. Tony is way too brilliant! He can make sad songs sound so beautiful..

General CommentIn a reply to a comment, RyuheiAoi said that this song is about a woman who is leading a man on but she is married. The man knows of this but he loves her that much he can't turn away.

I have just came from a simular sort of situation and fell in love with this woman who was married. She promised me the world, and that her husband treat her wrong and beat on her. Hearing the stories made me fall for her. But one day she cut ties with me saying she fealt guilty. I understood and admit that I wa shurt by it, but 6 months later she got back in touch with me saying she regretted cutting ties and wanted to be with me and not him.

I was a little reluctant at first and though she was full on towards me I started falling for her again. But he found out about us and she went back to him leaving me once again.

I can totally relate to this song as no matter how much you can dream about a person, when you wake your heart still aches for them.

Like myself he followed his heart and not his head which has brought him pain like he feared he would feel.

My InterpretationI feel that this songs means that this guy is in love with this girl. they were together but split because things didn't work. He still loves her but he knows that being with her again is wrong. So because he is in love with her he dreams of her and him having a good time, but he knows its wrong. "I feel something on my lips i should not." And when he talks to her he talks with his heart instead of his brain. "Now heart is speaking, brain's defeated
Independent thought deleted." So because he talks with his heart he finds it hard to say no to her. It seems that she wants him back and she wants him to trust her but he doesn't (probably because of the break-up) "Why do you fear to long for my love, please be strong.
If your heart can hear a song, you can't go wrong...
So repose your trust in me, save this love, live and see
If the life beyond this dream is what you seek..." He misses her and wants her back dearly, but again knows that its wrong. his dreams may make him happy while he sleeps but when he wakes up, it immediately turns into a deep depression. Therefore, no dream can heal a broken heart.

My InterpretationIt seems to me like this girl was the guy's loved one but she died. She keeps living in his dreams, where they're together, symbolically denoted as kissing. Though her appearance in his dreams keeps him attached and he can't let go.

In the part where she's speaking, she tells him not to be afraid of loving her, and that he should keep her love with him and move on (as in, live the life beyond the dream).
When he does that, the dreams start to fade although he still wants to dream about her, get one last kiss.
