Listen close the beat is fading
Fast into chests with arms colliding
Under wraps my arms wrap tightly
Around this it's so exciting

'Cause I ain't fit for this lying
Give me time, the sea will split
And give way to this morning
Where we lovers are soaking
In the thunder of last evening

The moon falls in lines of silver
Reflected light on the still water
Bring me life in a million colours
Bring me love like no other

'Cause I ain't fit for this lying
Give me time, the sea will split
And give way to this morning
Where we lovers are soaking
In the thunder of last evening

General CommentIt's, I think, it's a song about adultry...about the excitement of it at the time and the aftermath (ie. guilt and shame that doesn't stop him/her from continuing). S/he's "not fit" for the lying, but s/he's practically bragging about his/her behavior. ("Bring me life in a million colours
Bring me love like no other.) Kudos...must be so hard for losers to sleep with someone and not be found out by the person they lie to about loving; they should make merit badges for such big feats.

Song MeaningIt's about a same-sex relationship. The troubles that lying about who you are as a couple create. It seems to be that their is hope that one day "the sea will split" as in the world will change, society's views on homosexual relationships. Her saying "give me time" is like her saying I'm not ready to quote on quote come out. The singer Casey is homosexual, like others in the band. So from experience I can say this song feels like a sucky situation, wanting to be a full on loving relationship, but both knowing the time isn't right.
